Re: unable to attach to project

HI, and welcome to the forum [after being member since almost since offical day 1]

Presuming you've got BOINC Manager open in advanced view [the grid view], what does it print in the very right hand bottom corner? Mine says "connected to localhost (6.10.58)".

This is the step to establish if your core-client is running (boinc.exe) and you've got access via the GUI.

Re: unable to attach to project

If you happen to be inside IBM, you may have been blocked to attach projects. In Help there's an FAQ how to work around this.

Just a hunch

edit: This is the FAQ: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewSearch.do?searchString=attach and read on after step 6 if the issue is indeed [an older] IBM install.

Re: unable to attach to project

I see many lines of this message in the log:
25/08/2012 8:46:27 AM Fetching configuration file from http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/get_project_config.php

But nothing after that.

Re: unable to attach to project

ok I have a big problem. Suddenly after I tuned my pc on I could not longer report my results or get new downloads. In the right corner of the GUI is stays that I am connected to the local host, yet when I use the advance tab, and options then go to connection all the fields are empty. I can't find my http settings to enter them in. IE9 gives no data, using ipconfig in DOS yields only my own IP address, but not what http setting of the server I am using. Comcast does not know the http seetting. What can I do? Thx!!!

Re: unable to attach to project

Just wait. The servers are having maintenance, so likely to be down for most of this morning.

Re: unable to attach to project

It's not that. This has been for four hours now. First it says I need to attach to the Internet or choose a server (Something like that). and now it says the old HTTP file not found under the message on the client itself...sigh...I have not one clue why it can't 'see' my pc for all this time!!! I hope someone can help me to get back with the Boinc servers!!
