Hi guys, +1take a look on boincstats , it does provide exactly the information you are requesting. Cheers, Yves Or any of the other couple dozen or so BOINC stats sites. The only real change that I would suggest is that it is time to drop the "WCG points" and display the BOINC credits (just as on the "Result Status" page)... Ralf To drop the WCG points, I think they need time (and maybe many other criteria) to convert the points generated from the old UD client (which are NOT counted in those BOINC stats sites) to BOINC credits first. |

As for the ranking or percentile stuff, I don't think there is any need to change anything. If someone is so much more interested in statistics, (s)he should just take a look at the his/her stats on BOINCStats or any of the other sites. There (s)he can get all that info and then some, no need to change anything on the WCG site... Ralf ![]() |

And honestly, I won't loose any sleep if this is never going to change... That is the correct frame of mind to have. We haven't had any value added to the website in nearly 3 years, unless you call changing the colour of the 3 bar graphs "valuable". I have great respect for the Techs and the effort required to provide daily support for the server farm driving 100,000 active users.I can accept that WCG Admin will not spend the funds to hire a contract website designer. I can accept that merging computers violates a WCG design principle of transaction auditing. I can accept that WCG Admin has permanently frozen the website development. I do not accept that there hasn't been even a glimmer of free time for one of the Techs over the last 400+ work days. The 'no time' excuse demeans the skills of our Techs. ![]() and I expect my opinion to have no impact, except to make me feel better. Such is the way of WCG. |

Great, thanks, but maybe I'm missing something here, as that didn't work for me. I tried to login to boincstats with what I believe my BOINC username to be (how can I check that?), and it came back with:
"The username/password combination is incorrect. Please try again. If you can't remember your login information you can enter your email address or username below. Your username and a temporary password will then be emailed to you." So then I entered my email address, and boincstats spat back "Account not found." Um, yeah, each time my screensaver kicks in, it's cranking on WCG stuff, so... I'm totally confused... many thanks for any help! |

AHA! Finally figured out my confusion and got to the stats I wanted... I would search by username, and it would bring back a page with a list of one, my username. I thought that was just verifying that yes, I had an account. "Well I KNOW that..." But I just found that there's an image to the far-right of that list of one in the Options column that leads to the page I've been looking for. "Oh, AHA!" Many thanks for the help y'all! Case closed, operator error. :-)

But now I'm not sure I'm reading it right...
"Contribution to SETI@Home total credit 0.00000% Contribution to SETI@Home total RAC 0.00000% Accumulated more credit than % of all SETI@Home Users 25.56334%" So, I've contributed 0.0% of the total SETI@Home credits, which is more than 25% of their users??? Uh? And again, "Contribution to World Community Grid total credit 0.00007% Contribution to World Community Grid total RAC 0.00020% Accumulated more credit than % of all World Community Grid Users 71.00156%" So even though I've only contributed 0.00007% of the total, that's more than 71.00156% of the users signed up?!?!? Well, heck, that's starting to make sense... it just implies that the number of WCG users is HUGE, right? |

it just implies that the number of WCG users is HUGE, right? 'Huge' is a relative term... Did you mean 7% huge, or something like that? ![]() ; |

Thank you. And I may not ever need it again, but I see that on this page it tells me that "You are watching this thread." Except I never get an email and am always surprised when I come to this thread and find unread replies. Now, I'd like to go looking back through my email and just see if I missed them somehow, but my Gmail inbox is an organized unholy disaster of hundreds of emails getting labeled and filtered out of my inbox every day. So it would be somewhat hard to find the email telling me this thread was updated-- anyone know which email address such an email would come from? I can start looking for that...
Thanks, Jeff |

Well, heck, that's starting to make sense... it just implies that the number of WCG users is HUGE, right? Well, no. It's rather a matter of some/a few users putting up HUGE numbers all by themselves...I have per latest stats "Accumulated more credit than 99.42743% of all World Community Grid Users" but that still comes out to be only a "0.00517% Contribution to World Community Grid total credit". If you contribute consistently, you will move up at least in the user rankings pretty quick at first, but at some point, you will get into a region where "the air gets thinner" and you will advance only VERY slowly from that point on. If at all... I would not get to wound up in all those stats, the matter is THAT you contribute and that real advance is due to "strength in numbers". Unless you have a lot of money to burn for both equipment and electrical energy, there isn't much of a point in trying to compete with those folks that run whole (dedicated) server/crunching farms...
