Re: Reporting problem
I have been having the same problem for well over 24 hours now - I am unable to report tasks from my home computer. I've learned from experience that these things happen sometimes, but yesterday after I had waited long enough I switched BOINC to the Docking@Home project as a test. I've gone through a cycle with that, and reporting there works just fine. I've had to suspend obtaining more tasks from WCG because of the possibility of being unable to report them before the deadline.

My environment: Windows 7 x64, BOINC 6.12.34 (x64), dial-up Internet. No changes in any of these for almost a year.

Log of attempt to report with <file_xfer_debug>, <http_debug>, and <http_xfer_debug> all set to 1:

Changing DNS server often works wonders... bypass the ISP service and go directly to e.g. OpenDNS or Google's DNS. Logs continue to be clean here.

I can't speak for William Watermeyer, but in my case I believe that my debug log suggests that it's not a DNS problem as my agent successfully establishes communication with the WCG server. After about a minute of no log entries, though, the server reports "500 Internal Server Error". Although this problem is apparently only affecting a small number of members it does appear at this point to be an issue with the reporting server.

William Watermeyer, are you using dial-up Internet like me or broadband?

For those of you experiencing this issue. Please go to the BOINC data directory after a failed communication (which on Windows 7 is C:\ProgramData\BOINC I believe*) and get the file called sched_request_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml and send it via email to support@worldcommunitygrid.org with a subject line "Failed scheduler request - please forward to Kevin'.

This will let me reproduce and resolve the issue.

Had one of these "HTTP internal server error" messages at about 3:33 UTC, but before I could catch it, the client had tried again one minute, 1 second later and connected without problem... and then the sched_request_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml is not of use anymore i.e. the copy must be taken immediately right in the act.

This was on a Linux machine with 7.0.27 client.

I've had this "HTTP internal server error" messages happen three(3) times under my Ubu-machine for the past 24hrs during my synch-sessions with the WCG-servers but each appeared to have resolved itself some seconds later: all CFSW doneWUs were uploaded and cleared of ready-to-report status-flag, and fresh CFSW WUs downloaded. It looked like a transient error. No such error nor any other errors under my Win-machine.
