Not just on C4SW. My Linux quad is running HCMD2 only. Time is in Eastern Daylight Time zone.

Don't know why it would be/could be a specific science upload to the WCG file server. It's a general momentary saturation issue FAICT from what knreed wrote, nothing related to CFSW in particular... that would have made it too easy to pinpoint the issue.

As I type, my machines are encountering difficulties synching with WCG. The usual symptoms are there. For my case, there is also a project-request and a user-request for the scheduler:
Sending scheduler request: Requested by project. Not reporting or requesting tasks Scheduler request completed Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance Sending scheduler request: Requested by project. Not reporting or requesting tasks Scheduler request completed update requested by user Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Not reporting or requesting tasks Scheduler request completed work fetch suspended by user work fetch resumed by user update requested by user Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Not reporting or requesting tasks Scheduler request completed ... my machines are now dry ... and the issue remains. ; |

I have noticed that the servers seem to be on backup / maintenance more often recently.

Patrick, it's just a trick, to get out of the overflow woods... to temp switch to an upload/download hold state, which the client records as maintenance in progress.
Once again, as it was observed by others too, it's appears to be more frequently occurring on Friday... what's the connection? Is it the tens of thousands of IBM worldwide internal machines flushing the completed work on Friday before weekend power-down? It's too coincidental. |

It does seem to be very hit and miss here. I have had only one machine go completely dry, but it has been close on others. I am going to up my cache a bit to give a little more cushion. Hope they can figure out what the problem might be.

I am also experiencing the problems noted above. I know they will be fixed and just want to say thanks for all the hard work done by the technical folks in keeping this HUGE BOINC process going.

It's been six(6) hrs since my machines are left high and dry... I'm starting to feel some frustration and disappointment from crunching withdrawal.
