confused Reached daily quota of TWO jobs

Since last night, one of my computers has been getting the following message:
Message from server: No tasks sent
Message from server: This computer has finished a daily quota of 2 tasks

2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac w/ 2 GB RAM

No jobs returned as error, inconclusive, or aborted for that computer.
Ideas?

Re: Reached daily quota of TWO jobs

What projects have you got selected? - them all, or only a certain selection?

The water ones, Leishmaniasis, CEP2, Beta, and any of the intermittent projects.

Re: Reached daily quota of TWO jobs

Okay, you say "since last night", can you quantify that please - as, I'm led to believe that quota's are reset (so as to allow at least 1 of each project to download and be tested on that machine), each night at midnight UTC. Your "last night" might have actually been after 0:00 UTC.

Also, if you could post the exact messages you're getting just prior to the Request for new tasks, to just after the Scheduler request complete message, that'll also help.

Re: Reached daily quota of TWO jobs

There's an initial quota of 2, per core, per science, for a new device, or a new science app version arriving to a known device. On the server 601 there was a general initial quota of 5 per core, so a quad would get 20 [more than enough to proof a device can do the job]. Only when the tasks are *reported*, will the quota increment, to a maximum overall of 120 / core-day. So yes, we need the message log and your confirmation that tasks have been reported, meaning no "Ready to Report" listed in the task view. The server connect message(event) log sequence would tell us then there's nothing to report.

Re: Reached daily quota of TWO jobs

That device has been registered since 12/4/2007. Nothing listed as ready to report. Stuff has been reporting, just not grabbing new tasks. This quota crud has been happening off & on since Wed 15:08:36 local. (Reported 2, got 1 at 2:01:21 local today.)
Latest message as follows:

Fri Jun 8 08:48:33 2012 Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. Requesting 25072 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks
Fri Jun 8 08:48:38 2012 Scheduler request succeeded: got 0 new tasks
Fri Jun 8 08:48:38 2012 Message from server: No tasks sent.
(then it lists the projects, saying no tasks available)
Fri Jun 8 08:48:38 2012 Message from server: No tasks available for the applications you have selected
Fri Jun 8 08:48:38 2012 Message from server: This computer has finished a daily quota of 2 tasks

My other Apple computer has the same task list selected & has no problems getting jobs

Re: Reached daily quota of TWO jobs

Via your Report Status page, could you please filter by;
Device Name: <the specific device this issue is occuring with>,
Result Status: All & Project Name: All, then sort the "Return Time", and post what you're showing there - as that may give us some clues

Re: Reached daily quota of TWO jobs

You want the list of what jobs were returned when (and what status) for that computer?

Re: Reached daily quota of TWO jobs

yes please - as that'll give a clear history of what's been returned and when (by pressing on the "Return Time", it'll sort it in latest first order).

e.g.;
Result Name Device Name Status Sent Time Time Due /
Return Time CPU Time (hours) Claimed/ Granted BOINC Credit

This "quota crud" is there to prevent machines eating through the whole supply at a rate 1 a second or never reporting a valid one for one or the other science, just breaking them.

GFAM/DSFL/SN2S switched on Wednesday to a new version so everyone faced the quota 2, then having to proof that the device can do the job. Furthermore, SN2S has no work, so that wont be the one giving the quota 2 note. If you have a queue of work and those 2 per core sit at the end of that queue, then long as they're not reported, there wont be more assigned. CEP2 has default 1, per host, so here you have 4 active sciences for which there is a potential reason why no more work is send and all the intermittent having none anyway at this time. Leaves CFSW which has no changes. Anyway, the copy/paste request of your Result Status for the device in question will tell us more.
