Re: Reached daily quota of TWO jobs

Yup, set my Centrino up, got 2 last night, then in the same server connect cycle these were reported, the fetch call granted another 28 [nightly offline, makes for big fetches]. Me 3 active devices were 'reliable A++' as in getting repairs to do for CFSW under the old version, but it's sheer speculation if a rule was added by the techs or an override.

Crunching on, that what we do.

Re: Reached daily quota of TWO jobs

Should I laugh or should I cry... it's [loaded] domino's. The octo went online at 10 AM, and was welcomed with...

13950 World Community Grid 9-6-2012 9:53:02 No tasks are available for Computing for Sustainable Water
13954 World Community Grid 9-6-2012 9:53:02 This computer has finished a daily quota of 2 tasks

And really really, 4 in progress and 93 in queue, of version 6.11:

World Community Grid 6.11 cfsw 93 [Tasks], double click to expand - (-) 0,00 0,000 01d,02:55:06 09d,15:39:59 9-6-2012 1:39:03 Ready to start 0.00

Now projected to run just 17 minutes a pop... better not fetch now ;P.

Re: Reached daily quota of TWO jobs

We [me] were talking about the initial quota 2, per core, not the ZR reliability which requires 5 sequential validations. At any rate, long demonstrated, that the 2 [per core] is incremented rapidly.

Just look on the computers "Application details"-page, and you'll see that the various quotas is for the various applications/plan-class combinations...

Oh, hang on, WCG has still not bothered to upgrade the web-code, so you won't find this page for your WCG-computers....

Now, I'm basing my comments on BOINC-projects that does have upgraded web-code, there you can verify for yourself that things works as it should (and you can also see that it really is "per plan-class"). I've no way to know that kinds of hacks WCG is possibly using that changes the behaviour.

BTW, since WCG is running 2 scheduling-servers, it's even possible one of them is mis-configured and isn't using the per-application quota as it should do. Example, once one server asked computers to defer for N seconds while the others for N + M, meaning after N seconds you got "last request too resent" if hit the other server...

Anyway, have a good summer, I don't have the time to crunch WCG before July at the earliest. cool

Re: Reached daily quota of TWO jobs

WCG has *NEVER* had any device rating/status pages etc up, so why would you expect that now? If there is one with old web code, care to share?

Till then, adept comments to the WCG way... There is no all encompassing standard Berkeley grub here, so for one, we get quick service here [long as results are not returned with error state]... return first 2 without fail code and more is issued for a science app. If it's problem to you, sorry.

What are some of those BOINC-projects? Are you referring to BOINC-based grids which implement an 'application details' (web) page? Please provide links to some of those projects or sites.

Thanks
