Okay, so DSFL (as far as I can see) shouldn't be having any issues - as several have been returned and validated since the 6th (Wednesday). The other sciences may still have the quota restriction pending (none appear to have been returned since the new code was installed), so, perhaps just try selecting ONLY DSFL for the time being - so as to see whether you get some downloaded for that science.
----------------------------------------Once we've established that some DSFL will download/start crunching, then we can turn our attention to the other sciences. EDIT: Just had a thought - those that were returned in the last few days, look as though they were downloaded onto your machine BEFORE the code change - so (and I'm not certain on this), they may not actually count towards verifying that the new package will work on your computer (and hence, lifting the quota restriction). Have you a small cache still awaiting to process that were downloaded on/after the 6th?, as, if you have, then it might be worthwhile pushing those to the front so as to get them verified. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by gb009761 at Jun 8, 2012 1:59:57 PM] |

Sarah,
As the Result log indicates, these results are all from *before* the version upgrade. I now have no doubt that the buffered work is multiple days [looks like 4-5 days] so the new version has not yet run, ergo, there wont be more send until those new version tasks have been completed and returned. Please let us know once the DSFL *new* version 6.25 have run, which is when you may expect to see more. --//-- |

Hi, two 6.25 jobs have been returned. One is pending validation and one is valid.

Excellent, so now, in theory, you should be able to receive more work

----------------------------------------Okay, you say "since last night", can you quantify that please - as, I'm led to believe that quota's are reset (so as to allow at least 1 of each project to download and be tested on that machine), each night at midnight UTC. This used to be the case, but since this would give a spike in server-load after midnight server-time, the code was changed so now all computers runs with a randomly-assigned "midnight". Meaning, even a user has two computers, one can start on a new "day" at example 04:56:32 while the other can start on a new "day" at example 16:22:44 Sekerob wrote: Only when the tasks are *reported*, will the quota increment, to a maximum overall of 120 / core-day. The per-application quota only increases on Validated work, so just reporting it isn't enough. ![]() "I make so many mistakes. We [me] were talking about the initial quota 2, per core, not the ZR reliability which requires 5 sequential validations. At any rate, long demonstrated, that the 2 [per core] is incremented rapidly.
----------------------------------------The number is not rigid, perfectly, or the system is flawed, as my quad got 9 before the quota message showed, and my octo got 20 before that appeared... 'fuzzy' logic maybe... And then to test, got bang 53 filling out the full cache setting, even before the 3rd of the new version was reported. Of course you knew already that a new app version of *same* science may have had some overrides set... Don't know, just see how the client gets what it gets and the occasional notes by the techs, on and off line ;>) --//-- edit: To top it off, here is the list of the new short, version 6.11... 6 reported, not a single validated... so much for 'Berkeley' theory: cfsw_ 3215_ 03215055_ 0-- 1767290 Pending Validation 6/8/12 16:33:38 6/8/12 21:27:31 0.95 16.7 / 0.0 cfsw_ 3216_ 03216188_ 0-- 1767290 Pending Validation 6/8/12 16:33:38 6/8/12 21:27:31 0.95 16.8 / 0.0 cfsw_ 3215_ 03215316_ 0-- 1767290 Pending Validation 6/8/12 16:33:38 6/8/12 18:37:39 0.94 15.6 / 0.0 cfsw_ 3215_ 03215056_ 0-- 1767290 Pending Validation 6/8/12 16:33:38 6/8/12 18:37:39 0.96 15.8 / 0.0 cfsw_ 3215_ 03215240_ 0-- 1767290 Pending Validation 6/8/12 16:33:37 6/8/12 18:37:39 0.94 15.6 / 0.0 cfsw_ 3215_ 03215124_ 0-- 1767290 Pending Validation 6/8/12 16:33:38 6/8/12 18:37:39 0.95 15.6 / 0.0 [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jun 8, 2012 11:27:31 PM] |

Forced the hand... another 77, and at 1.56K download per task [the model database already on the system], a feast for the BW budget. What odds is, the octo has not reported a single one yet of CFSW 6.11 but has been crunching lots, repairs inclusive, of the previous version through today... so not at all sure what's going on. At least my number of wu's completed will increase faster since these are crunching fast, similar to HCC.
