Three teenage girls and two pre-teen girls here. If I had longer hair, it would all be pulled out by now. (tongue bleeding from the excessive biting).

Everyone have a great day. That especially means you Keith.

What has America become?

I think our complaints with our government aren't unique to it. I think you'll find the same culprit throughout society today. There's a growing lack of civility, courtesy and respect. While I find the "doom and gloom" far-righters a tad depressing (they seem to be convinced humans are basically bad/evil), the irresponsibility of the far left's apparent belief in money solving any problem is just as unappealing. Our kids see nothing wrong with cyber-bullying, road rage is a regular occurrance, you can't trust your fellow humans, customer service is an oxymoron. You know though, it seems that we humans have to have some sort of "boogeyman" to fear, or at least be warned of. As I recall, rock music was suppose to destroy our generation. Then there was overpopulation, pollution, mass starvation, the communists, nuclear war, and so on. Seems like if we want to change our goverment, the place to start is in our daily lives. Let that car in ahead of you. Don't give the car in front of you the finger because they kept you from making that light. Listen to someone you strongly disagree with and find a point they make that you can respect even though you disgree with it. Look back over historyand you can find that, surprise, surprise, we can do rather well when we work together.

Agreed. Well said. I like to think that I am the kind that serves as a good example by being kind to everyone at almost every opportunity. I try to behave the way most people in our old farming community did when I was growing up; with some exceptions: no hitchhiker waited long for a ride for example.

On the other hand, our government is so rife with what looks like almost complete corruption and clearly spends money like there will be no successive generations. Clearly we are committing generational theft; perhaps even delayed governmental suicide.

Rather it seems to me that it is the people on the right trying their best to bring the country back to a more central position from the extreme left/liberal course being taken today. I support the effort, if not the extreme tactics and misrepresentations of which there are many.

We need to expel non-citizens. Make all citizens responsible for their own well-being and make each of them pay a reasonable proportion of their income for taxes; be it a flat tax or sales tax or whatever.

I believe that if every citizen really understood how much money 16 Trillion dollars is. And understood what that 16 Trillion and rapidly growing debt will do to their children and grandchildren we would have a balanced budget amendment to the constitution within a year.

Then if we taxed all our citizens fairly, people would vote only for what they were willing to personally pay for with their taxes, it would put an end to much of what is wrong today.

And Keith, it would help to put the whole idea of personal responsibility for all of our actions back where it should be; on each and every one of us.
