Good Morning MOT Off on a one-day road trip today. Everyone have a great day!! Stay safe-- What has America become? Has America become the land of special interest and home of the double standard? Let's see: If we lie to the Congress, it's a felony and if Congress lies to us it's just politics. If we dislike a black person, we're a racist and if a black dislikes whites, it's their 1st Amendment right. The government spends millions to rehabilitate criminals and they do almost nothing for the victims. In public schools you can teach that homosexuality and lesbianism is ok, but you better not use the word God in the process. You can murder a child in the mothers womb, but it's wrong to execute a mass murderer. We don't burn books in America, we now rewrite them. We got rid of the communist & socialist threat by renaming them progressives. If you protest against Obama's policies you're a terrorist, but if you burn an American flag or George Bush in effigy, it's your 1st Amendment right. You can have pornography on TV or the internet, but you better not put a nativity scene in a public park during Christmas. In America, criminals are now called sick people. The government takes money from those who work hard & gives it to those who are lazy. Parenting has been replaced with Ritalin & video games. The land of opportunity is now the land of hand outs. And how do we handle a major crisis today? The Government appoints a committee to determine who's at fault, then threatens them, passes a law, raises our taxes, then tells us the problem is solved so they can get back to their reelection campaign.  |

Good Morning MOT Off on a one-day road trip today. Everyone have a great day!! Stay safe-- What has America become? ... I think most people think a president can do almost anything he wants, or be responsible for anything that happens especially if it is bad and he (or she) had no control over the current state of things. Also, I think many of the Republicans (or anti-Obama people) are racists in that they have a hard time accepting a black as the leader of the country. What Obama has done will make it much easier for following presidents to provide medical care for those who need it. The economy IS getting better but it is not something that will happen overnight, and all of the companies which will need to produce more to hire new employees will increase their employment based on new products or services needed by the people of the country. I don't know to what degree the baby-boomers reaching retirement is having on the economy but this is something that has not been planned for over the years with regard to social security and other health plans. By saying it has not been planned for, I mean there has really not been anything done in regards to health requirements for the aged and the costs associated with finding cures for those diseases which have been recognized and for which WCG is providing some help. |

Good Morning MOT Congratulations dkt and Tomwp!! Yesterday, it was a 5.5 hour drive to the real West Texas, 5 hours of a baby shower/lunch/visit and a 5.5 hour drive home. I had to do all the driving. You know, granddaughters get a little bored and annoying in 11 hours of driving. Anyway. We made it safe and sound if a little stressed. I slept 10 hours last night and looking back on it, perhaps that was not enough. My wife has agreed to take them swimming today while I hibernate and watch some TV (NASCAR race). Perhaps that will get me caught back up. As to the politics, I have very strong feelings about the current situation but am convinced that I have "vented" enough about it here already. So .. I will uncharacteristically heed dad's advice today: "Never pass up an opportunity to keep your mouth shut".
