You're welcome. It's pretty easy to de-Ubu a box, unless something goes wrong. :-)

That's what I'm afraid of. Will find out tomorrow after I back up my main drive. Thanks for all the help.

Re: Processor Optimisation - Sandybridge vs Ivy Bridge

Worked like a charm. Remembered while doing this I forgot to back up. Little pucker factor while fixing the MBR. All is good. After the slow format, will begin installing virtual box.
I see OSX server is on the list of supported vm's (sort of). Anyone try it?

Re: Processor Optimisation - Sandybridge vs Ivy Bridge

ken. et al,

The [arbitrary] benchmarks are [as a basis for credit claim] no longer used by WCG. Since conversion to server 700 the original claims are binned and the servers keep their own performance statistics for each device and compute a "claim". What it means is that for the most part, the claims and grants between Windows and Linux particularly latter with it's very high Integer benchmark, have largely aligned. Meaning, that if e.g. CFSW on both in dual boot on same machine take equal time, pretty equal credit is granted... which is fair.

Thanks for that. I'm after badges and points as much as the next guy, but there is also a strong element of wanting to give as much as possible, if it can be done by not giving any more, if that makes sense... Either way, I've decided to just let WCG do its job and let any task be assigned to any computer.
