I have a machine at work that I'd like to press into BOINC/WCG service, but I don't want to make it too obvious, so I don't want the screensaver popping up and giving the game away. Is there a way to turn it off on a specific machine?

The screensaver isn't profile based, you can turn it off anytime you want.
----------------------------------------After installing Boinc, it auto configures the screensaver on your OS, to disable it, you can right-click on your desktop and choose: Windows XP -> Properties Windows Vista/7 -> Personalize Linux -> Configure Desktop * If your linux distro don't have that option, you can open Applications or System at your taskbar menu, and select preferences -> Screensaver With all options, it'll open another window where you can find the Screensaver option and disable it, usually selecting "None" as option for screensaver. Hope it helped :-) Best Regards ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by Carlos R. Moreira at Jun 1, 2012 4:39:33 AM] |

The secure conscious set the "blank" screensaver with password. Does not use CPU/GPU time. Available for Win/Lnx. For Mac... je ne sais pas.
