Re: Beta test for Computing for Sustainable Water - Linux Only - May 7th 2012 - Issues Thread

I snagged 2 sets of 4 work units and they are running at high priority. My systems are running 6.10.58. One is a Ubuntu 9.10, and the other is Ubuntu 10.10.

Nothing interesting yet.

(later) One finished, another picked up. Seemed to complete okay, no deadlocks.
(later again) Two sets of 4 concurrent work units complete. No errors. Nothing stuck. Two more sets picked up.
(again later) 9 pending, 7 processing. No worries.
(much later) 16 up, 16 down, no errors, no hangs.

Have 4 running simultaneously on my Phenom II X4. All are incrementing their progress.

On a different machine, I received 1 beta and started it running alongside a CFSW WU. The CFSW hung. I suspended it and will start it up again once the beta is done.

Edit: Woo-hoo, now way we will get "Work available for other platforms" this time! biggrin

I have 14 running at present, I'll keep an eye on them over the next few hours to see if any misbehave. I'm strangely conflicted about this beta though... worried

On the one hand I hope it all goes well so that we can get production units as my tally of CSW production WU's is pitiful at present, I've even had to resort to turning a machine over to running Windows (oh the shame, what a chap will end up doing for WU's! blushing ).

But on the other hand I find myself hoping there are problems, and we need another extended run of Betas on linux to iron out those problems. That ruby Beta badge is calling to me from the distance, a couple more days of betas would get me there! biggrin

I know what you mean widdershins because I just set up 3 more virtual machines for this.

Re: Beta test for Computing for Sustainable Water - Linux Only - May 7th 2012 - Issues Thread

I recieved 7 total, 1 for my x1 core LT, 2 for my x2 Athlon, and 4 for my Phenom II x4. I waited until I had enough for all cores to run simultaneously on each muti core machine so they were all started at the same time. All are in progress and doing fine so far. Both muti core machines are 64 bit Fedora 16 and the LT is 32 bit Fedora 15.

If I recieve any more, I will just let them run as if they were production.

I also got 8, and am running them all together. I'll post again with results.
