The title in the graphics comes from the following file: dsfl_image18_6.24.tga It can be found in your data directory under projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org subfolder. It can be opened with some graphics programs (Irfanview on my PC). If you open it in a graphics program and it is corrupt, then delete the file and it will be downloaded later on a contact with the WCG servers. I don't find this tga file : where is it exactly and this subfolder ? Also I don't know anymore what exactly was doing Hijackthis; I try to read other tga for instance with ACDSee and I can see it. I used also another grafic software : CrazyTalk and pictures are blurred now; maybe it is part of the same problem.... and nobody tell me if you see pictures in my answer above : "I have this on my screen : no picture with the first part of my question : do you have also the same ?" Thank you to tell that because it is also an indication. My concern though is, that whatever set required the Hijackthis cleaner to be run has secretly corrupted more. In fact I have now less problems than before, and I hope to solve this also ... I am sorry I can not help you with your problem, but the links to your pictures do make the pictures appear and they illustrate the problem. It may be drastic, but if all else fails, backup all your files and re-install your OS. Cheers

I don't find this tga file : where is it exactly and this subfolder ? When you first start boinc, the data directory is listed in the messages (ver. 6.10 and lower) or the Event Log (ver. 6.12 and higher). Here is an example from my machine: 5-4-2012 3:58:02 PM | | Starting BOINC client version 6.12.43 for windows_intelx86 5-4-2012 3:58:02 PM | | log flags: file_xfer, sched_ops, task 5-4-2012 3:58:02 PM | | Libraries: libcurl/7.21.6 OpenSSL/1.0.0d zlib/1.2.5 5-4-2012 3:58:02 PM | | Data directory: D:\BOINC Data Find the data directory listed in your BOINC Manager, and then the projects\www.worldcommunitygrid.org subfolder will be there. |

Thank you BobCat13 for your help, so in my messages list on Boinc I find :
----------------------------------------09/05/2012 00:32:33 Data directory: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC and if I search there with *.tga, I find many tga files and specially this : dsfl_image18_6.24.tga (Truevision Targa file) in : C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BOINC\projects\www.worldcommunitygrid.org and now if I click on it I can see now my missing title ... with ACDSee So, why it is not on the screensaver but I can see it here ? As BobCat13 noted, the specific file could be corrupt (or maybe read permission not right). Delete the file and BOINC [should] fetch a new copy.

I end my Leishmaniasis unit yesterday and Boinc downloaded a new one : it is the same problem ... no title. But I wonder if all is reloaded for each unit : if there is a problem with this particular file, the title, and it is not replaced each time, this can explain ...

The client is meant to compare the files "on client" to a state file it keeps of what should be there [permanent, science app & graphics files, and per-work unit files], so interested to hear [once that file was actually deleted], if the client does what it is was taught to do. Bar some sticky files, a project reset, when first suggested on May 5, would have solved this.

Yes, I have deleted now dsfl_image18_6.24.tga , but there is a little problem : WorldCommunityGrid have erased this Leishmaniasis unit and send two new units : "Computing for Clean Water 6.40 " and "GO Fight Against Malaria 6.11 ", but I don't know how to have again some Leishmaniasis unit : I have it only from time to time ...

Go to My Grid > My Projects and select the sciences that you prefer. Select DSFL only which will ensure the next work fetch will be any available DSFL.
If you only select 1 science [like only DSFL], than it's strongly adviced to also tick the box further down in the project selection screen next to "If there is no work available for my computer for the projects I have selected above, please send me work from another project.. This will ensure that if there is no DSFL work, something else is send. Normally your message (event) log, will show if the .tga file was fetched again. Either immediately when BOINC detects a fixed file is missing for a chosen science, but no later than a specific science task starts. Let us know the outcome. --//-- |

Thank you : so I have now downloaded a new DSFL unit with a new dsfl_image18_6.24.tga ... and no title again in the screensaver. I have put before the old tga file in another folder, but I don't see either the new one in this message ...
