Re: Is there any way to prevent "rush" jobs?

Earlier in this thread, it was said that a new option was going to be added to the development backlog. I was wondering about that status of that item.

Re: Is there any way to prevent "rush" jobs?

what option do you want to add to BOINC (and 1000 other projects) ? Not get priority tasks for 4 days ? WCG will not add any feature to BOINC, they use official software (at the moment version 6.x, while BOINC laters versions are 7.x). If let's say BOINC developers agree to add feature not download priority tasks, you will see it in WCG not earlier than 1-2 years after that.

Please read several other solutions above in this topic. BOINC client already have all possible options to control tasks

Re: Is there any way to prevent "rush" jobs?

mwroggenbuck, rilian et al,

Per post knreed above, following the proposals discussed, it's on the *unscheduled* ToDo list to implement a device profile option to stop repair tasks going to the associated devices! Unscheduled means it will take time which is 10% programming and 90% debugging. No amendments to client are needed [nor can be implemented as there are too many project level variations].

Thx
