Re: Bogus Bulldozer BOINC Benchmarks - blooking blor Badvice wink

the dissipation is very important for the best output, I have it working to 100 % at least of 50 degrees centigrade, with a Cooler Master Hyper 612 or with a Scythe ninja 3, both are on 40 USD,

It's the best machine I have built and will be the basis for a busy database/telephony server

This is how it's built

not much wrong with that ;-)

There's my missing mips peace

Just installed BOINC 7.0.25 !

Let's see if my points return gains a boost thinking

Re: Bogus Bulldozer BOINC Benchmarks - blooking blor Badvice wink

I have 32 bit windows 2003 and changing from WCG's BOINC to the latest 7.0.25 32 bit makes no difference in the benchmark on the 905E

I have 64 Bit Windows 7 on a 1055T OC'ed to 3Ghz

WCG's BOINC 3042 FP MIPS 6898 Int MIPS
7.0.25 X64 on the same 2462 FP MIPS 7612 Int MIPS

It's all over the place

.. a benchmark should at least be producible give or take a few MIPS being used elsewhere

But that doesn't seem to be the case.

A benchmark should provide a measure of the relative performance of our CPU's

But it looks like you can pick and choose how fast your CPU appears to be

Oh hum

Re: Bogus Bulldozer BOINC Benchmarks - blooking blor Badvice wink

going to be putting the Win7 box back on WCG BOINC

(it didn't like the downgrade I had to reset the project - still I am back on slightly more than a floating point instruction per tick at 3038 FP MIPS which is about right)

Re: Bogus Bulldozer BOINC Benchmarks - blooking blor Badvice wink

Looking at the points now returned by the 8150 I would say there is no correlation between your benchmark score and the points you receive

My bet would be that BOINC has a lookup table for each processor from which it allocates points (whether this includes OC'ing is questionable)

The benchmark scores only appear to affect the amount of work your PC is allocated and those "windows style" completion times
