Hello keithhenry.
Reference: keithhenry [Apr 21, 2012 12:57:41 AM] post The memory connection seems plausible indeed. I'm gathering the pieces of the puzzle and they all seem to suggest a memory connection: 1] The suggestion to turn off LAIM in releasing a stuck CFSW WU. 2] Top3 heavy RAM sysRequirements, in MB: CEP2(1,024), C4CW(400), CFSW (300). 3] CEP2 is heavy on both RAM, and disk (a form of memory). 4] The currently imposed 1-CFSW-WU-per-computer rule to limit the number of CFSW concurrently running with chances of a stuck-CFSW increasing with the number of cores simultaneously crunching CFSW WUs -- the exact restriction under CEP2. 5] Chances of having accumulated memory leakages or dirty data (also consuming memory) -- are higher the longer a machine stays turned-on. To which list above I will add snippets from your post: 6] "I've encountered this message in the past, primarily while crunching CEP2"; "So, look at how much memory you have and reboot regularly"; Thanks for sharing the tip ![]() ; |

Thanks everyone, the issues persists to date, hence with a heavy heart, I have decided to retire from WCG.
It was a good run, and I hope many others will continue to contribute to the cause. |
