sad Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

Are we back to an ''Uploading'' problem with C4SW? I have jobs that have been pending in the ''Uploading'' status for 6 hours that I'm aware of, perhaps longer.

Had the same problem earlier today with GFAM (8:00am EDT - GMT-4), but that has been resolved. C4SW still hasn't resolved.

From messages, it appears to be a problem with the file server; hope it's cleared soon. However, I do have several more hours of work waiting to run so should be OK from that standpoint.

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

Here's something I can't explain. I presently run CFSW only on my quad and C2D. Everything is normal on the C2D. The quad is a different story. It looks like virtually every CFSW WU is now ending up in Pending Verification. I have 56 CFSW in Pending Validation, only two of those are from today. I have 57 CFSW in Pending Verification, 56 from today. Of the 139 CFSW returned by the quad since 00:00:00 UTC 8/17/12, 2 are Pending Validation, 80 are Valid (only 5 after 14:22 UTC 8/17/12 when everything started going to Pending Verification), 56 are in Pending Verification, and 1 Server Aborted. All are from 11793 batch. I first thought I had a problem with the quad that got it marked unreliable but no WU are Error, Invalid or the like. The quad normally processes similar volumes fine until this.

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

I checked my systems and found a bunch of WUs with Upload Pending. I went to Transfers and got the uploads to complete and got the completions reported. I checked the status of my In Progress WUs and found one (cfsw_11378_11378403) in progress in my laptop, but BOINC manager on the laptop does not show it anywhere. It looks like it got lost. This should not be a problem much longer as the due date is 8/18/12 (today). It should go into repair.

Edit: I just checked and WU cfsw_11378_11378403 completed with a status of No Reply. The wingmen completed their processing of the WU with a status of Valid.

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

The past 24hrs or so, my Ubu64-machine got hit with 2-CFSW-WUs that ended with a BOINC-message of Computation Error, and 6-CFSW-WUs which I ended up aborting (subsequent BOINC-message of Aborted by user) after having seen less than 50% progress after about 3.5hrs of crunching on each of those said 6-WUs. Reading the results-log, the frequent error-message is: No heartbeat from core client for 30 sec - exiting. I see tens of these particular error-message in the said result-log for a given WU. After doing some investigation, I theorize that there seems to be a co-relation between internetConnection-is-down, BOINC-is-communicating (BOINC set to Network activity always available), and the said error (type).

P.S.
No more of the above minor hassle for now; my internetConnection is now ok.

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

I've got a WU that has apparently taken 13 hrs to get to 24%,just paused it and restarted it and it's dropped to 14 mins.

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread
