Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

Can anyone explain the points discrepancy?

OK, so I made a device profile that excludes the CFSW task, and assigned that profile to the devices with the 6.12 application. That should cure my Points ranking going higher instead of lower.

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

Not a task processing problem, rather a feeder imbalance [in eror or by design]. It is clearly observable from daily stats that SN2S/CFSW continue to run in a medium to medium low feeder priority, but when running a device with these 2 as selection, the time cached on average for CFSW versus SN2S with a 1.5 day cache is 1 day of work being on average being buffered for CFSW and 7 days for SN2S [octo]... essentially... sustainable water hardly gets any reasonable share on my host. See http://bit.ly/WCGQLK for yesterdays quicklook summary. 15 Years out of 445 total... that's 3.37%.

There's also http://bit.ly/WCGSHR to display weight in a more *spatial* fashion. Must be all exclusive crunchers if a 2 way medium priority mix already gives a 1:7 computing time share on 1 device.

No hurry, I've just switched off SN2S for the coming 14 days to allow CFSW to catch up within me own My Grid inter-research weighting share [in MM mode]. Can't have those Virginians go under in their polluted bay water ;P

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

Is CFSW setting up to run on GPUs? I ask because because after seeing this "Running, high priority (1.00 CPUs + 1.00 ATI GPUs)" in Boinc Manager I thought I had picked up some HCC betas but it turned out to be CFSW. I also noticed that it will only run 1 wu at a time and as far as I can tell it's not using the GPU.

Someone crunching SN2S encountered the same problem. You may read a few of the post in a thread there starting from this post: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/...33424_lastpage,yes#384348
for your reference.

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

Noticed my completion times have dropped by around 0.1 hours per wu.

On my 2660K this has not been a problem but on my 3770K I have started to get computing errors.

The two things may be unrelated as I have made other changes recently including updating BOINC so I am asking if others have seen anything similar?

My 3770 runs this project occasionally and have not experienced any problems (other than the change-of-result-code issues mentioned in this thread).

What kinds of errors reported in the Result Logs of the work units (please post the logs here)?

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

I will get back to you on that..... Checked temperatures and power use and both have gone high. Most odd. Once I track that issue down I can get back to checking this but it seems likely the two things are related.

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

The odd C4SW WUs seem to stall on my laptop. I just restart the BOINC service, which solves the problem. Bit of a pain as I need to keep an eye on them.

Re: Computing for Sustainable Water Problems Thread

Just had 15 Pending Verification C4SW WUs on my laptop.

C4SW doesn't seem to like my laptop. Off to crunch another project on it.
