dott... there is PLENTY information available about the WCG to convince anybody about it's purpose and it's goals. If you had presented your doubts/questions with a little more credibility (giving an example of a fantasy eugenic project supposedly funded by the rich people was not the way to do it), then you would have been treated with more respect and seriousness. Now, if you think there's something more that can be done to improve the communication, presentation or organization of WCG projects, please post it... that's what this forum is for.

Let me understand... is it my fault if Bill Gates exposed his thought in a public conference That is not what you posted. You posted a link to a website that says he is FUNDING genocide, not discussing it.Then i have linked sites to investigate the topic , so all us can make a personal idea about it. If you were serious about investigating this, you would have the backing of a university, newspaper or research organization and would be publishing your findings in the respected research journals. Currently I see this 'work' as probable slander of people who live in the public eye. |

Hello dott ari,
A good lawyer bangs on the case; a bad one, on the table. You were banging on the case alright. One thing is though, some sensitivities were inadvertently touched as you were banging on the case. Not your fault that the reactions came as they did: some positive, some negative. This is all a part of the fog-of-communications. Now, about the focus of your OP. This I would say: The moment an individual, a group, or an organization gets assigned the job of 'verifying the truth', how are we to verify if that individual, group or organization will remain truthful in its verification? The only way to end the circle of checks and counter-checks is to rely on a system of trust and good reputation. There is a first time for everything, I understand, so no amount of history of trust or history of good reputation will ever guarantee that trust will not be broken or good reputation will not turn bad. But what choice do we have? We do: There is a certain amount of trust that is assumed, expected, and given to scientists and the people they work with -- to have a project which is assumed and expected to be useful to humanity and carried out with those goals in mind. There is this notion that "they can't be fooling around or else... the law, the outcry, the backlash". Although there is no guarantee that there won't be possible evil, evil is inherently unsustainable and even empires crumble from the weight of their evil. ; |

Well , maybe i have some suggestions.
----------------------------------------The boinc client is an open source software , everyone who has confidence inprogramming can look into it and find if something wrong. The projects engines are closed software , only the programmers know what they do , why dont release an open source engine ? Although we can trust the researchers of universities, we all appreciate their efforts and we read with interest reports on their progress in the research, you could perhaps form groups for the exchange of information between research institutions in order to spread in many laboratories the knowledge about new discoveries and at the same time limiting the monopoly of information. And then , if someone comes up with the statement that some great evil is hidden in your pc... you have an answer ready and precise. ![]() |

Jonnieb , although your note seems appropriate , if you follow the links i have posted , there are precise referrals to the matter.
----------------------------------------So , the topic is not grown and evolved in a comparison in the field of speech but we can say the topic was born around this matter even if a little hidden among the lines.... at any rate... Godwin is great ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by dott ari at Apr 14, 2012 7:21:25 PM] |

I saw and heard Frankie Boyle say on my telly, that many scientists dont always use the grants they receive for their original purpose. He says that one group in particular use it to buy packets of fruit pastilles, to see how many it will take to choke an average sized kestrel.
