I have been in the process of validating the Free Energy of Binding code after solving the issues that came up with - the molecular dynamics software version, the parametrization of ligands code, etc. Now, I have given 8 co-crystal's alpha-test and after they are done, I will submit the 2000 ligand GSBP calculation for the pre-run calculation shortly. Any news on readying the next batch for crunching? Did Usha's alpha test complete sucessfully?Cheers ![]() ![]() |

Is there a way to ask the server how many workunits it currently has available for DDDT2? No, but the answer at this time is 0, you do understand that this project only runs in bursts and spurts? You have to chase them when they are available, usually 3-6 months between bursts ;) with only a day or 2 notice and only lasting 2-3 weeks if you are lucky. If you are not paying attention when they come out, you lose, is that simple. A types (few) make B types (also few) make C types (Lots) usually about 10 days between types, next expected is A types I guess I have been snoozing as I rarely got any WUs and have not selected this project for some time....GFAM and HCC at this time as well as Folding at Home (Alzheimer's and Parkinson's). Merry Christmas to all crunchers!! crunching, crunching, crunching. AMD Ryzen 5 2600 6-core Processor with Windows 11 64 Pro. Yes, I agree with you NixChix, maybe everything is normal in mikey159b's home. <snip> With this configuration, my electric bill is more than the double of what it would be if I shut down all my machines. Not that I want to take this thread off topic again...but per the conversation about 'costs' to run crunching devices... [Forum Mods feel free to snip and move this post if needed to its own thread] Rather than compare a cost per month in dollars...which would vary GREATLY based on what your local cost per energy unit is as seen in this article: U.S. average retail price per kilowatthour is 9.83 cents A better comparison would be the calculated increase in kWh usage from crunching devices: "A typical U.S. household uses about 908 kWh a month of electricity." I would think your device profile selection [Maximum Output vs Power Saving] and the device power supply watts would impact this calculation of kWh usage. Even with that sort of comparison, most devices are NOT dedicated to only crunching, so you can not even really say that crunching is responsible for all the increased kWh usage. My personal collection of crunching devices include 3 Dell PowerEdge 2950s with various dual/ quad core CPUs, and a Core 2 Quad core desktop. However my personal electric rates are very cruncher friendly: Energy Charge, per kwh Non-Winter (April 1 to Nov 31) and first 1000 kwh (all months) $.03591 Winter (Dec 1 to March 31) usage over 1000 kwh $.05387 Not to many places in NY, let alone the USA, have rates that cheap. The 'costs' to crunch with my 24 CPUs, set at "Maximum Output", and running my entire house has never been more than $100, and usually averages around $60 a month. The most expensive bills are in the summer when I have the AC unit running 24/7, due to 3 sides of my home being exposed to afternoon sun/ heat. My average electric bill before installing the 3 servers into my home was closer to $30 a month in the winter, and $45-$60 in the summer. So adding the 3 older, less energy efficient, non-virtualized, 5 year old servers with 750w power supplies, running 24/7, increased my 'bill' an average of $30 a month in the winter, and $40 to $60 in the summer, which really tells us nothing. A 'hot' summer will increase my bill as much as changing my device profiles from Power Saving to Maximum Output. |
