Re: Next GPU Beta series

What happens with MS RDP is that it unloads the display driver (and the GPU compute stuff along with it) and loads RdpDD.sys on the remote machine once a RDP connection is made. The GPU tasks may recover after the connection is closed, but they may simply error out.

Bottom line...I wouldn't use MS RDP to connect to machines running GPU projects, use Tight/Real/Ultra VNC or similar.

Re: Next GPU Beta series

How does one get beta GPU wu's, anyway?
I'm running GPU grid, so my system is set up for it.
Running Boinc 6.12.34 and the newest nVidia drivers (296.10). Should Boinc be upgraded for WGC? I've seen mention of Boinc 7.xx
Also, my system is a GTX 275 and Win7 x64.

Thanks. I did all that, so I guess it's just a matter of luck, then. smile

Yes there are only so many Beta units released in a batch and there are LOTS of us testers each wanting ALL of them!! In the last few batches they have not released any units to Nvidia cards, not on purpose anyway. That is still coming, also Knreed is off until the first of April and he is in charge of the Beta releases. I know today is the first so keep an eye out, but it is also Sunday!

Re: Next GPU Beta series

Let's qualify: He's [presently] in charge of GPU Beta testing, in fact, no Kevin, no GPU.

Re: Next GPU Beta series

While waiting for the HCC GPU tasks, I am processing FAH and POEM GPU tasks. I hate to see unused GPU resources, especially given their cost!

Oh there are MANY other Boinc projects that would LOVE to have your gpu power while you are waiting! I would attach to them but keep their priority at 1% and then WCG should still send you some gpu beta units as they become available, but while there are no WCG units you can still crunch away.

Thanks my priority list says POEM and FAH, followed by HCC GPU as soon as it's ready. I have little interest in prime numbers or Collatz, etc.
