Re: GPU WU too late? Really

Too Late gets used for many things. I know server abort sometimes falls under this category. Just hope the techs give you more clarification. Until then, don't read it too literally.

Re: GPU WU too late? Really

Techs might want to note that although your 700series server settings can specifically ask for GPU tasks to be reported immediately, this is only supported by Boinc 7.0.x clients. I tested this elsewhere on 6.10.58 (no), 6.12.34 (no) and 7.0.20 (yes).

Re: GPU WU too late? Really

The Too Late is the parking lot to credit [in beta] for bad results, but with server 700 we'll have to sit back as quite a few things got lost in past custom coding... to be done anew/different.

Report immediate [at request of server] is a known new function, not limited to GPU FAIK, [server instructed] process immediately is a wished for function [achieved easily with all clients by giving them very short deadlines]. Was reading a Gpugrid thread linked from these forums and thought... Well, if there are dependencies for new work, DDDT2-A-B-C type, or instant Beta analysis needs, Yes, else No.

Re: GPU WU too late? Really

The problem here is to focus on resolving the # of cards that are sent work that cannot handle processing it. We are getting better on this.

Per what I wrote above, here's a good example of "too late" converting to credit. The moi result could not get a reliable wingman, so mine was put aside and credit/time granted:

SN2S_ AAC47307_ 0000008_ 0179_ 4-- - No Reply 3/8/12 13:58:45 3/20/12 13:58:45 0.00 0.0 / 0.0

SN2S_ AAC47307_ 0000008_ 0179_ 1-- 613 Error 3/8/12 10:03:21 3/8/12 10:05:30 0.00 109.7 / 0.0
SN2S_ AAC47307_ 0000008_ 0179_ 0-- 613 Too Late 3/8/12 10:02:57 3/10/12 09:30:32 6.51 155.3 / 155.3 <Moi

The rule has remained the same.

Re: GPU WU too late? Really

Click the WU link for the "Too Late" item and compare logs of the 2 or more results in the quorum. What was just tried to get across is that it may not be an error result, just one that could not get a valid wingman. Post copy of the WU quorum detail and the result logs for the good/bad/ugly.... then we can say something more fact based.
