I did not have the opportunity to test the Hyper 212. But if we look at the installation process then the Noctua is excellent. Documentation is perfect and the parts are very well grouped and identified. Installation is a breeze.

cool and quiet this is what I use
http://www.thermalright.com/products/?act=data&id=178 'cause nothing can beat 1kg of aluminium hanging off your motherboard! plus it's a great passive heatsink if the fan dies. keeps my 2600k@4.5 below 60 at full load |

At least with the Hyper 212+ it's only a bit over 600g, it moves a bit more air, weighs less, and is only a little bit louder. Most decent cases these days come with more fans than they did even just a few years ago, so those will help with airflow (and moving heat out of the case), too. The Hyper 212+ is also a LOT smaller in size, and mine is keeping my cpu in mid 60's under full load (most cpu's are just fine til around 80 or even 85-90 these days). Obviously cooler is better, and yours does the job maybe a tad better than mine does. If one wants that humungous sink in their machine, though, then they should go for it. Otherwise, the Hyper 212+ does a super job and is smaller, and maybe just a tiny bit louder. Mine is even in my bedroom, and it doesn't keep me awake at all.
