Re: Will C4CW be the next project to finish ?

why are you guys so concerned with these badges?

Oh, you know the answer already. It's just an added dimension. If something is more like a game, then it's more fun to participate, and if goals/objectives are set, then us volunteer crunchers become better alligned with the targets of the science, which is to get huge masses of Work Units processed in a practical timeline. Sure, we'd all rather be paid in cash, but that ain''t gonna happen.

So... for most of us, the entertainment/enjoyment value of points, badges, fine tuning & scheduling our computers, etc, is the only thing we get from any of the BOINC and WCG projects .... it's pretty much a given none of us will ever directly benefit from any of the science here in our lifetime, so we settle for a colored badge or a printed Cobblestone certificate, and we get to run our computers like they were a tiny train set. Choo-Chooooo !!

Now then, if you really want to wonder about someone, go look into that SakeRob guy. He maintains the tracking, math, and rendering of the Dashboards half of us use to plan out our WU attacks, and he is a heavy lifter in asnwering forum questions too ---- and not for a single WCG project, but on *ALL* of them. For any human hour I've spent on WGC, he spends 30. Rumor is he is a robot, or a pod of dolphins ... but we have no way of verifying it.

Cheers,
Aces

We will not know for at least 48 hours, if distribution will run out in another 24 hours of service resume, or the distribution order had us fooled. As of last night about 1.54 million net had validated of the 4 million anticipated... just over 30%.

He is somewhere in central Italy, but stays online 24/7. It is the espresso.

Re: Will C4CW be the next project to finish ?

The last WU I received was c4cw_ target07_ 039736438_ 0--. Since than, no tasks are available for Computing for Clean Water.

Seems the well went dry.
