Re: Will C4CW be the next project to finish ?

Detailing a little more on SekeRob post...

3,151,992 WUs released in the wild so far
1,565,088 results returned (validated)
-----------
1,586,904 Waiting to be crunched

... averaging aprox. 125K returned results daily

Taking Cjsl post a little further.
If we divide 1,586,904 Waiting to be crunched by averaging aprox. 125K returned results daily. I get 12.695232 days of work remaining to be sent out. Please correct me if my maths is wrong. Latest batch number I have is 03015
Edit= correct spelling

Re: Will C4CW be the next project to finish ?

I think I might have messed up on the math (or at least didn't present it the way it should be). I stated that 3,151,992 WUs had been released so far, but there are an additional 848,008 WUs (4,000,000 - 3.151,992) that haven't (hadn't) made it out the door yet (so to speak). So in theory, there should be aprox. 2,434,912 WUs still available for crunching (some of which are already in crunchers queues). I won't even try to figure out how many days are left (and not confuse things even more)... leave that to the people with the inside info :D . Just got to keep crunching, cuz I'm still a ways away from the pretty green badge...

Re: Will C4CW be the next project to finish ?

Cjsl Thanks for clarifying your numbers. In future I will leave estimating the number of days up to somebody in the know. I need were roughly 153 days to make it to my blue badge. Hopefully I can get there. Per calendar day I average 5 to 6 days of computing time. So it will be a matter of time before I know whether or not I will get to my blue badge before this target ends.

Good luck to all who are hunting for badges.

Re: Will C4CW be the next project to finish ?

Something does not feel right with the gap between numbers issued and what's been validated in the stats. Validations were 1.766 million so far, and 20-25 percent of that is with a wingman on top, so really net 1.5 million results of the 4 million that have had the OK. Not surprised if the numbers are not going out in full order.

At any rate, if that much has truly been send out... 3.637 million, the 3 year goal I had is not achievable. Need 195 days more CPU days and can only do 11-13 per day [even suspended CEP2 participation to free 2 cores, which shortened the C4CW runtimes by 6-7 minutes on the octo]. At 130K average daily circulation, that's not 3 days left before the well pretty much dries up. No amount of buffering will be able to cover the time when "originals" distribution ends...

Crunching 24/7 for cleaner water.

Yeap... have the same feeling here... I still have 116 days to make it to Emerald and I'm averaging 4-5 crunch days every 24 hrs.... and I'm not seeing that I'm going to make it sad . But hope dies last so... l gotta keep crunching biggrin

Re: Will C4CW be the next project to finish ?

I'm curious - why are you guys so concerned with these badges? Surely completing the project is what is worthwhile, nothing else matters.

Re: Will C4CW be the next project to finish ?

Hi draganov, beyond a shadow of doubt, all members could not be happier to see any project finished, for which the scientists have exhausted any useful line of investigation, which on this particular science project is not determined! Whilst, we just engage in contribution and badge games to keep the juices flowing. Whatever tickles the fancy.

P.S. anyone familiar to you in this list? http://boincstats.com/en/stats/search/?#dragunov [There's only one showing a past WCG contribution FAICS, so maybe BOINCstats is incorrect. If so, maybe talk to Willy].
