I was going through the different projects trying to figure out what the crunching priorities would be for me and I noticed that C4CW only has aprox 174 days left on the SekeRob Dashboard (please notice the "aprox"... it's just an educated guesstimation, but it gives us something to work with). That is a little less than 6 months. So if you are looking to get further badges in this project, it might be a good idea to start thinking about crunching priorities. I, for one, have given this project high priority because I want to make it to ruby.

astrolabe... that's great. My intention is to give a heads up for those that don't have that much crunching power (like me). I still haven't made it to gold and my target is ruby, so I still have a ways go.

I understand where you're coming from on the heads up thing, cjslman. I also don't have as much computing power as a lot of people do. I'm just hit silver last night on this project, and would like to hit ruby for sure, and hopefully emerald on this one. I've been crunching it non-stop now since I started it, which has only been about 12 days (4 cores).
----------------------------------------Hrm, I'm actually wondering if I would have enough time left on SN2S to get sapphire there, if I were to attempt to get sapphire on this one, too. I know there'd be enough time if I only went emerald on this one, but I'd really like to get sapphire on both. EDIT: Ok, doing the rough math, it seems I'll be able to hit sapphire on this, and still have plenty of time to get sapphire on SN2S, GFAM, CEP2, and DSFL (and I have no badges at all yet on the rest of the ones I just mentioned). Hope things stay as they are! :) i5-12600K (3.7GHz), 32GB DDR5, Win11 64bit Home [Edit 1 times, last edit by Bugg at Mar 5, 2012 9:24:20 PM] |

Bugg... congrats on your silver ! I think I would be happy with a ruby for C4CW. I'm also starting to chase after the ruby for HFCC (since it now has 257 days left) and have a slew of other projects that I need to attend to. I also haven't started GFAM or SN2S . Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Geokamayoc... so once you get the silver for C4CW, what's next for you? I understand that HCC will continue and those WUs are doable, 1.5-2 hrs long (the last time I checked a couple of months ago).

The HCC work units were about 1-4 hours long for me. Once in a while you get one that takes 2-4, but most were 1-2 and closer to 1 than 2. That was before I decided tonight to OC my machine. C4CW (pre-oc) were taking 1.03-1.09 hours for me. Now they're taking (so far) 0.82-0.83 hours. :) This means I should be able to get an additional 23-24 work units done per day. It's not a lot, but it's something that'll help me get to my sapphire badge for this project sooner (theoretically).
----------------------------------------EDIT: Ran into some minor instability issue I think. Back at 3.3GHz again. Oh well. i5-12600K (3.7GHz), 32GB DDR5, Win11 64bit Home [Edit 1 times, last edit by Bugg at Mar 7, 2012 4:33:58 AM] |

Oh well. Umm... Badges are based on run time. If your computer is on 24 hours a day you will get 24 hours of run time. How many results you finish and the CPU speed do not affect this at all. Correct. With a quadcore you get 4 days run-time, 6 days for an hexacore. If you have HT on then you get even more up to 10 days runtime in average. But that depends on the mix of projects too. |
