Good morning MOT. Yesterday I got a special issue (advertisement) for Second Opinion by Robert J. Rowen, MD. He uses quite a bit of space talking about FSM (frequency specific micro-current) and its use by a chiropractor named Carolyn McMakin. He also talks about a treatment called Prolozone(R) which is a combination of prolotherapy and ozone therapy to re-build worn-out cartilage, ligaments, and even tendons, and the cure is permanent. Has anyone heard of this?

I have heard nothing of it. Sounds too good to be true? That would be great.

I have heard nothing of it. Sounds too good to be true? That would be great.

I have been reading Second Opinion for some time and I have not read anything that would make me suspicious of what was written. In this issue are also articles on the following:
1. How to stop prostate and breast cancer from spreading to your bones.
2. The simplest, most cost-effective way to get rid of heavy metal toxins in your body.
3. How to use your body's own stem cells to reverse old age.
4. High blood pressure? The culprit could be the mouthwash you use.

I was interested in seeing if a web site is available, but when I go to http://www.secondopinion.com/ I get "Welcome to secondopinion.com. We are working on getting the site ready for publication."

From Wikipedia:

Frequency Specific Microcurrent or Frequency Specific Microcurrent Therapy (FSMT) is a therapy based on neutralizing and eliminating disease radiations through the use of electronic equipment. The effect is claimed to be achieved through neutralizing those frequencies that are alleged to be incorrect for the damaged or affected tissues.

Practitioners of microcurrent therapy introduce a mild electrical current into an area of damaged soft tissue. The introduced current is believed to enhance the healing process underway in that same tissue. The current is applied using electrodes that have been either moistened or coated with a gel.

It appears to be a type of alternative medicine. I want to think I've heard of football players using some sort of electrical stimulation for muscle injuries as part of their rehab. Could that be related? Here's a link to a MD's website that seems to use this a lot: http://www.drkaslow.com/html/frequency_specific_microcurren.html
Prolozone seems to either be a homeopathic treatment or alternative medicine. There seems to be plenty of .com sites that talk about both along with videos on Youtube.
