Hello Dataman,
Thank you very much for your interest and your support! I've added the details on a couple new targets since the last time I posted here, and I will soon add a description for the fifth target. Stay tuned to: http://gofightagainstmalaria.scripps.edu/inde...r-potential-malaria-drugs I recently created the 200,000,000th job for GO FAM, which involves target #5. Thanks again, Alex L. Perryman, Ph.D. |

Hello bieberj,
You are very welcome. I tried to make it informative and detailed, while still keeping most of it understandable for the non-scientists in the audience. Best wishes, Dr. Alex L. Perryman |

Hello andzgrid,
Thank you very much for the compliment. I tried to make those details and plans clear, and I'm glad that they are starting to reverberate. I hope this site and the project can serve as inspiration to the other World Community Grid scientists (and to scientists who have not yet recognized the utility of the massive resources that WCG provides). Thank you very much for your interest and your support, Alex L. Perryman, Ph.D. |

Hello Col323,
You're welcome. I'm glad that you appreciate our effort to encourage a collaborative spirit amongst the malaria researchers, instead of the default paradigm where everyone views each other as competitors. We certainly do have a lot of work to do. And that reminds me, I need to update those % completion statistics soon. If I get too busy and forget to update them, please refresh my memory about it in a week or two. Thank you for your interest and your support, Alex L. Perryman, Ph.D. |

We certainly do have a lot of work to do. And that reminds me, I need to update those % completion statistics soon. If I get too busy and forget to update them, please refresh my memory about it in a week or two. While it has been about a month, I really love that you have the Experiments and their descriptions right there for us to read. It's easy to figure out what we're working on using your page and viewing my work unit names. I can at least estimate how far we are through an Experiment, which is something other projects could learn from. Also, it's encouraging to a faceless cruncher to see the project lead taking time to make personal responses in the forum. It helps me, at least, feel like our cycles and work aren't just going into the void. Cheers! |

Hello Col323,
Thanks again for your kind words. Without all the "faceless crunchers," there would be no World Community Grid. The GO FAM team and the FightAIDS@Home team greatly appreciate all the calculations you donate for us. I'm sure the researchers for the other projects do, too. Thank you very much for your support, Alex L. Perryman, Ph.D. |

Hi Everybody,
On May 22, 2012, I updated the % completion status of the GO FAM experiments. See: http://gofightagainstmalaria.scripps.edu/inde...r-potential-malaria-drugs I also added descriptions of the eye candy for the 5th target and a summary of the new target. The 6th target = PfSUB1. I updated the Research Team page, as well. See: http://gofightagainstmalaria.scripps.edu/index.php/research-team Thank you all very much for your interest and for your continued support! Best wishes, Alex L. Perryman, Ph.D. |
