Hard drive space to allocate problems!

Hello. All my devices seems to be fine with the comparison device, all but the storage. It says the recommended is 5 GB, and for me it's showing 0.98 GB. So I went to the World Community Grid website and I changed this Hard drive space to allocate to 5 GB, but the agent continues 'unupdated'. How should I proceed? Thanks.

Re: Hard drive space to allocate problems!

Hi, I have the same problem.

I have also changed this setting, to 3gb, but still reports 0.98gb.
So I would also be interested to find out why.

Re: Hard drive space to allocate problems!

Having browsed the forum for some time, i have now noticed that my points have been updated, and the problem with incorrect display of storage device allocation has also been updated.

I changed it to 3Gb yesterday, now it showing 2.93Gb

I can only presume that this has taken place after a server update?

My advice I think is have patience and let it take its course.

It would be nice now that there has been an influx on new users, that some of these questions that have arisen are followed up and added to the FAQ

Regards,

SlySy[UK]

Re: Hard drive space to allocate problems!

Well, so it updates after the first pack of data is sent to the server?
If it is so, I'm on 79% yet :P

But thanks anyway!

Re: Hard drive space to allocate problems!

After the work unit finishes and is uploaded to the server the new settings will be used. I also changed from 1 gig to 5 gig, I didn't notice any difference until the work unit was returned. Of course your settings will not show the full 5 gig because your work unit is taking up that space, I presume. My question is though, what would it matter if I was allowing 1 gig to 5 gig. So far I have noticed no difference in speed or effectiveness.

Re: Hard drive space to allocate problems!

i have the same doubt, what difference does it make whetheri allocate 1 gb or 5 gb. the only thing i can think of is that in the future, maybe when all these results(which we are calculating) accumulate( 1 copy is stored in our comp too i guess), it would need space to store them.
