Good Morning MOT Congratulations to Gerald and nanoprobe(3)!! You know, I have said innumerable times to my kids and grandkids.. "when I was a boy"...something like "skipping school was a major offence and I did it but once (true by the way); I never considered drugs or theft or mocking my teachers or a whole host of things kids routinely get away with now; nobody did!" Or similar. Then I read where my generation coaches at Penn State or Syracuse or elsewhere do those despicable things. "Back in my day.....". I guess that the only thing that each of us knows is from a particular tiny thread in a giant space/time continuum. Kind of makes you realize that you know so very little of the world or the country or for that matter your own immediate surroundings. That puts things in perspective. Y'all take care now...ya hear? (oh and have a great day regardless )One of your friends in Texas ![]() |

Good Morning My Online Team As usual, congratulations 3 times to nanoprobe. Things are going reasonably well. Around here there is a facebook page that is Somervell County Buy Sell Give Away or something like that. I was on there the other day and spotted a Dell Inspiron 10" netbook for a really good price. Do I need it?? Like I need another hole in my head. Anyway, as you might expect, I bought it, brought it home and put it to work on WCG. Oddly enough it does not produce work like an older machine I have like it. The only two differences are the processor and the operating system. The old machine that I had (named Pipin) has a N270 Atom at 1.6Ghz and .99gig of memory. The "new" one (named Merry) has a Z530 Atom at 1.6Ghz and 1.0 gig of memory. Both of them have the same speed of memory. I am going to check this out, but it looks like the Windows 7 on Merry is slowing down performance. I suspect that it is thrashing but Win 7 says it is not overcommitted on memory. A bit of a quandary this morning. When I get my work done today, I am going to poke at this problem some more. Anyone have any ideas? Just Because..Have a great day! One of your friends from the Great State of Texas. ![]() |
