The ZINC-database is used like DSFL.
----------------------------------------I found WU's with 128 and 140 tasks. After every task there is a checkpoint, so rather regular. Although 140 tasks within the WU's the jobs with 140 tasks are running faster. On Linux they seem to run faster too. |

This beta is not adhering to the 5 minute WTD checkpoint setting. Got one running that has recorded 62 after 92 minutes of CPU time. They appear to be variable as another concurrent at 88 minutes has done 45.
Anyone testing with BOINC throttle on as this is another Vina engined science, like DSFL. --//-- |

Just an FYI: I had 4 running on one machine and I shut it down completely and cold started it. All 4 checkpoint restarted correctly. I did see some strange checkpoints on the first ones (<10 to >80) but the rest seem to be >60 to >100. As I do not know what this science app does or what WCG has in the test, it looks like normal BETA test behaviour to me. Good luck and bring on that new project.
----------------------------------------EDIT: I received about 50. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Dataman at Nov 3, 2011 7:26:08 PM] |

Second pass on viewing checkpointing and sizing, could be the techs will have a similar hard time in chopping them to whatever target mean time as with DSFL. Got 1 running on it's 9th checkpoint after 3 (CPU) hours, not having written one in 17 minutes and a second one on same machine that has done 24 in the same time. On another machine got 130 checkpoints at 54% for 2:31 hours and another at 71% for 120 checkpoint for 3 hours.
One thing, my logs have exploded in recording them on the quad. So far, reasonably unperturbed while ''working'' the computer, even let the AV program loose on scanning the slots. --//-- |

Betas for a new project? Awesome.
----------------------------------------Mine seem to be all doing fine so far. EDIT: Just had 1 go PV after 33 minutes. Hope that's not a bad sign.
In 1969 I took an oath to defend and protect the U S Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and Domestic. There was no expiration date.
