No - absolutely not, just curious... After all, even if we're talking terabytes here, I'm surprised that it's taking this long - therefore, there must be some other reason as to why it's taking so long...
----------------------------------------Just for the record, even if this project restarted tomorrow, I've reached my goal in it (Emerald), and am busy attempting to obtain my Sapphire badge in HFCC before that project ends - and, with the limited amount of power I've got, that's a long, slow process...). ![]() |

Now you wouldn't be implying that as data is shuffled off to Lyons it would make space that could be filled with new work would you? If I remember correctly there are some post-processing operations to perform on the lab side after results have been received from WCG.There are obviously technical reasons that we have to wait for the completion of backlog-transmission before we can resume... And if the space cannot be recovered in WCG before all these operations are agreed upon as OK by both sides then we just have to wait. For me, a few more days to wait don't matter much if it is to make sure that everything is done correctly and safely. After all, it's the results of a huge amount of work we are talking about. |

Thanks for the explanation - I was pretty certain that there would be such a reason, just can't remember ever seeing it.
----------------------------------------I, too, would like everything to be guaranteed to be safe before the disc space is released for more results - after all, we don't want to be in a position where all this work is lost, and had to be reprocessed do we ![]() ![]() |

I was pretty certain that there would be such a reason, just can't remember ever seeing it. Normal, I took it from Decrypthon's Facebook page in French (Feb 4). WCG members are more patient, so I don't think that Nico_B has ever needed to post it here. ![]() |

Good news. Thank you !
Bonne nouvelle. C'est très motivant d'apprendre que le projet va recommencer. En plus, ça coïncidera, à quelques jours près, avec le Téléthon. Téléthon + Décrypthon = plus forts contre les maladies génétiques. |

3 weeks ago it was said for it needing 2 weeks, then 1 week ago another 2 weeks estimate was added for the resume... The signal in the chart suggests the patient is terminal... no a flatliner. Patience is tested and did think that French summer holidays had ended at beginning of October... well winter is setting in. Paris, how come your scientist of the year is not getting top support from the fraternité? (but really, is WCG stretching the outage to get the number of concurrent projects up to 12 before it ends?... How could I even think that ;P) --//-- P.S. From Oct. 24 to Nov. 17 is 24 days. |

As I don't like to disappoint myself I had set my personal deadline from that sentence of Bill's message on October 6:
----------------------------------------"Therefore our current estimate is that this project will be up and running again by the end of November, hopefully earlier." Which does not forbid me to look at this page every evening to see if there is a new percentage. ![]() Still nothing, but we are still within limits. ![]() |
