![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Congratulations Judson! ![]() Here is an extraordinarily interesting article . (well the research behind it is extraordinarily interesting anyway). I suppose that it helps to explain why our politicians are so wealthy and don't do what they said they would or what we want them to. ![]() I heard a saying: "Politicians and Babies need to be changed often and for the same reason." This would suggest that the old saying that "Power Corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely." is more probable. Something to think about; certainly it argues for term limitations. I spent some time in a foreign nation. The standard operating procedure was bribery of officials; I indirectly participated in it as it was the only way to get what we really needed done. It was a built-in standard of behavior. Everyone knew about it and it was just accepted and shrugged off as normal. I wonder if that is not life inside the "Beltway" and mini-beltways around the world. Everyone have a Great Sunday ANYWAY. ![]() |

That is indeed an interesting article. Not surprising either. I've heard about some of those experiments before. Where some see conspiracy, it's much more likely just plain old human nature at work. People live up or down to what's expected of them, or at least try to.

Interesting article! As an activist it is often frustrating and down right infuriating that people so cling to the status quo despite clear evidence of severe wrong doings! People do not like change or uncertainty and have an amazing ability to deceive themselves. Hopefully the professors examples in California schools will become more wide spread as it is greatly needed in my opinion with more and more power concentrated in a few people's hands. I often wonder about Google and their potential for good and evil, despite their moto! Not many say strive for evil!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Congratulations masurg! ![]() Its good old Monday morning again. ![]() Looks like that big points day has an offset day. Not that unusual. ....People do not like change or uncertainty and have an amazing ability to deceive themselves. Hopefully the professors examples in California schools will become more wide spread as it is greatly needed in my opinion with more and more power concentrated in a few people's hands. I often wonder about Google and their potential for good and evil, despite their moto! Not many say strive for evil! Good points. I frankly doubt that the examples quoted above will get widely read, understood and taken to heart. It is too uncomfortable to think that you are not as good of a person as you like to think you are. There are I think 512 elected people in the congress and executive branch. Those 512, that we put there, seem to have far more power than they can responsibly wield. While experience in Congress sounds like a good thing to have (it has to be a complex job), the morally erosive effect would seem to offset that. Sure makes you wonder what the correct answer is. Perhaps it has something to do with lobbyists and shorter term limits. I don't know. I really don't know about Google either. I worry about them a bit but I worry more about the FCC controlling the internet with "Net Neutrality". The federal government invariably messes up everything that it touches. Google will supply any two of us different results depending on what we have searched for previously. I do not know how responsible they are, (like Judson, I worry about their potential). Having that much information on everyone is a bit troubling. BTW, other search engines behave in a similar way and keep records on your searches. Casey Anthony can attest to that. On a brighter note, All my kids and grandkids will be here in this big ole house for Thanksgiving. I so love them and look forward them being here. They are a great bunch of people and my wife such an outstanding cook. Big Smiles Around Here for that!!! You guys have a good day today; thanks for the good that you do at the World Community Grid and all the other things you do for others. That's one of the reasons I like it here..Good People Doing Good. ![]() One of your friends in Texas. |
