sorry but finally the problem is not resolved..
when i turn on my computer i got a message boinc manager can't turon on cause a dll is missing (i dontremember the dll exactly. i ve uninstall it and reinstall , but now he cant connect to the server.... i think that boinc manager uninstall procedure is not good and let some traces of the old program in the computer , that could probably make the next installation bad. his someone meet the same problem? |

Hello chirac31,
Whenever I had this problem (years ago) it turned out to be a problem with the OS. I hope that is not the problem now. Please give us information. Look for an old copy of stdoutdae.txt in your BOINC directory and post a page giving the start up information so we know what version of BOINC you are trying to run on what type of system. Right now we have very little information to work with. Lawrence |

The stderrdae.txt list errors specifically for core client [boinc.exe] and stderrgui.txt for the BOIKNC Manager front end [boincmgr.exe].
Yes, the uninstall of BOINC is not totally cleaning out. It leaves parts of the control and persistent science data files behind i.e. if you want to start clean, delete the content of Data directory: Z:\DOSSIER PROGRAMMES\BOINC + subdirectories or use MS Installer Cleanup tool. After an uninstall, I'd boot to remove anything left in memory before reinstalling [If I'd have such a dll problem]. Did dll error repeat, since your log seems to be fine up to the point you've posted? --//-- |

----------------------------------------i ve use c cleaner, reboot the computer , then reinstall boinc manager, reboot the computer. result boinc try but can't connect to the client. (no message about miss dll) it s weird to see that... [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Sep 23, 2011 11:27:01 AM] |

By now, I hope that you have managed to fix the problem yourself. I encountered the same problem on one of my machines yesterday and, like you, tried uninstalling and reinstalling etc.
----------------------------------------One thing you didn't say is how you were running BoincManager. Until recently, I had always done a 'standard' install but decided to try installing BOINC as a service on a new build instead. I have now done this on two machines and things have been fine for about a week. It is on one of those machines that I encountered the same problem as you and after rereading your comment about BOINC never completely uninstalling (which is good in that your current WUs are never removed), I had an inspiration to force BOINC to behave diffrently because simply uninstalling then reinstalling didn't appear to do the trick. For me, I now have BOINC running again (and connecting to localserver) by reinstalling it with the standard settings. This has now been running for about 12 hours so I think its safe to say that the problem is resolved for me. If you were running it in standard configuration, try re-installing it as a service and see if that fixes the problem. Later you could change back if you prefer (untested by me). Let us know if that fixes your problem, and Good Luck! ![]() Crunching in memory of my Mum PEGGY, cousin ROPPA and Aunt AUDREY. |

i got 2 accounts on my computer and Boinc was installed on both.
i ve delete the 2 boinc programs on the 2 accounts, then delete the Boinc files that stay after the uninstall, and past ccleaner. After i reinstall the Boinc last version on my principal account only. thx |
