Re: When Did This Project Actually Start?

Funny thing is that the first WU I got for this project, on 1sept11 is still in PV state.

That is correct. If you didn't see this the day it was posted, you obviously have spent too little time reading this forum wink

Re: When Did This Project Actually Start?

If you are running SOME projects with "opt in to new projects" the opt in box will appear but will not automatically be checked.

retsof,

Think you're talking of a past bug where it worked, but not 100%. My duo had C4CW+CEP2 selected + "New project auto opt-in" and DSFL was ticked automatically.

It could be, but on Aug 31 I got an empty box that I had to check myself. I will watch for the next project to see how it goes.

On this one, Uplinger ran a script to check the project for people who had the new projects checkbox marked. I didn't get a chance to see if mine had updated before he did this, but I did have the 89th released work unit on one of my systems.

I have only a couple projects selected and allow new projects enabled.

In short, either or both of you could be right.

Re: When Did This Project Actually Start?

31 aug was the day it started...

the official release was sep 7th...

basically it takes a long time to setup a release publicity and you don't want to run flat on your face when you do it.

look at it as if it was a movie release....

once the movie is completed they setup a release date... there has been at least 1 showing for critics probably a few by that date

also once a film make it to the theater they have to run it at least once to make sure everything syncs right and there are no issues. (especially if its in IMAX) not to mention i am sure its run a time or two extra if its a good movie

so they did the in house "alpha" testing and the beta testing then started a release of work units... and a low key announcement... 7 days later they did a PUBLIC announcement to the world and news agency's that this new project was up and running.
