BSD; my long running WU was still progressing but next time I looked it was gone. Funny thing, it does not show in my queue as PV or valid but it seems like it was counted.

This is the longest one of mine yet. It was crunched on an older slower AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core TK-53 processor, TDP is a cool 31 Watts.

Notably, the target 9 through batch 33 are processing with more modest run times. Me Q6600 caned quad does and did them so far under 7 hours with an occasional excursion to 8 hours. Very possibly there is a trend from early to later batches in the target getting longer, a 48 his heading for 20+ hours on the duo.
Project average dropped from Friday to Saturday by half an hours to 9.4... hoping this is a sign the lengths are starting to get under control, the average. Like 6 hours as a general objective. --//-- |

Project average dropped from Friday to Saturday by half an hours to 9.4... hoping this is a sign the lengths are starting to get under control, the average. Like 6 hours as a general objective. --//-- Well, in researching the processing on my machines, I came across this one WU which took 14.11 hours to complete. The details are below... DSFL_ 00000008_ 0000031_ 0848_ 0-- DAVETHOMPSON-PC Pending Validation 9/8/11 06:12:03 9/10/11 20:48:34 14.11 219.0 / 0.0 And the WU structure consists of 43 (or 44) jobs. The information for the last job follows... [12:30:53] Starting job 43,CPU time is 49787.734751. [12:30:53] ZINC14958365.pdbqt size = 29 6 ../../projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/dsfl.target_00000008.pdbqt size = 13522 0 [12:47:46] Finished Job #43 cpu time used 1010.652479 12:47:47 (5912): called boinc_finish </stderr_txt> ]]> I say 43 or 44 because I can't look right now (stats being updated) so I don't know if the first job was 0 or 1. |

I have seen a wingman clock 92.62 hours on a WU (DSFL_ 00000007_ 0000018_ 0602_ 0-- ). A third result was required for validation which resulted in his result becoming invalid.

He got the full time credited though :D
The project average runtime dropped from Saturday 9.45, via Sundays 8.79 to this morning's 8.56 hours per task. --//-- |

Are runtime averages falling despite the recent (much longer) units?

If I had to guess, I'd say the average is falling because people are deselecting the science and/or removing their slower systems from it. I haven't seen much change as of target 11, they're still running in excess of 7 hours when they used to finish around 6.
