I'm glad it's not just my machine taking an unusually long time with the WUs since the error series. The longest has hit 14 hrs, but most are completing now in 8 or slightly less.

As long as the checkpointing is regular (at least every 15 minutes), I am quite happy to crunch these longer workuints.
----------------------------------------It seems that the errors are incurred very early (a matter of a few seconds) in the workunit's run so the risk of getting to 8 hours and having an error is probably remote. Inconsistenet checkpointing is one of the reasons I have reduced my contribution to CEP2.

With BT you can access 'My Grid' too. Didn't you discover that? Right click on the WCG project or on any WCG task. From WWW you can select 'My Grid'. I totally missed that feature. Thanks for that. Here's a link to BT (BoincTasks) for those who haven't discovered it already. ![]() Crunching in memory of my Mum PEGGY, cousin ROPPA and Aunt AUDREY. |

Yesterday I broke my personal record of Points per Result for the day. It was 1373 WCG points. It broke my old record by over 200 points, as a result of these long running WUs.

I dont mind longer work units as long as i know they are processing correctly.
----------------------------------------I will admit i am a badge hunter... and right now as long as it is time for a project I am trying to badge or upgrade badge then I am happy. right now i have one approaching the 13th hour but it looks like it will be done soon. ![]() |

It seems like the WUs are getting longer and longer. Targets 1-4 took about 3.5 hours on my faster machine. Targets 7 and up take as much as 10 hours each.

I have started crunching this new project. An excellent project that adresses diseases that strikes poor people in developing countries.
----------------------------------------If I look at the CPU times on the validated WU's I have received sofar it goes from 5.20 to 12.52 hours. Points requested and paid seem to be coherent in average. WU at 5.20 requested 114.0 points and got 114.0 points. WU at 12.52 requested 302.3 points and got 274.2 points. The CPU's are Intel 980X. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Hypernova at Sep 8, 2011 1:14:22 PM] |

We are working towards updating our estimation scripts that chop up the work units into reasonable sizes. Please be patient as this does take time.
Thanks, -Uplinger |
