Wow whats going on O.o all rush this project, the days on the dashboard are going down that fast that no workunits are in round 10 days ^^ The 10 day reduction (in 1 day) of the remaining time left is based on an increase of the 7 day average of contributed CPU hours. Even if 100% of the daily contributed hours for HPF2 were shifted to the Leishmaniasis project, which is highly unlikely, this would still leave ~50 days left to go. ![]() “Where an excess of power prevails, property of no sort is duly respected. So The falling will stop? Because it accelerated every day faster. But i would find that great because it getting hot here, summer is coming very fast, so i could deactivade some machines i wanted to do after hpf2.

I have just noticed that I'm not receiving DSFL WUs anymore (I still have some in the queue). On one machine, I haven't received any since late Sat night and on another, I haven't received any since early Sun morning). I added a day to the "Additional Work Buffer" and this is the msg that is displayed:

I'm getting a normal flow of DSFL tasks.
----------------------------------------Don't know if this "6/10/2013 7:37:57 AM suspend work if non-BOINC CPU load exceeds 20 %" could influence anything. Maybe the ones in the queue are filling your buffer. AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

Does not, -but-, if the computer actually exceeds that 20%, BOINC pauses completely and if this is frequent and long, it does reduce the daily forward computing crunchtime estimate, meaning less work is buffered compared to a device going all-out.
20% Is a very low value BTW, but if that value is high enough to be 'hindered' in what you're doing, than that's what it requires [Mine is set to 35% on Linux, else tasks [Vina/CEP2 particularly] start crashing out with a heartbeat issue... signal 11] |

Even if 100% of the daily contributed hours for HPF2 were shifted to the Leishmaniasis project, which is highly unlikely, this would still leave ~50 days left to go. Arbitrary base is that we did 71% at a certain point [April 10, IIRC, when we had about 29K years completed]. That extrapolated into N years for the whole project. Not looking at actual result counts, since the runtimes for DSFL are highly mobile. The 7 day average is actually a 9 day trimmed mean, lowest and highest day removed. Reason is that at times stats fail, so you'll have an artificial low and high day, where the low day will first drop out the series, which would skew the average too high if the recover day were still included. Since the participation is rising, feverishly, the EOW days always lag somewhat, a bit overstated. Since the calculation is also on returned work, not feeder, to which I've no access [last received is structure 90 sub 25], it's probably 5-7 days to high. As things settle, the number does so too, now 93. As when the techs do the 30 day left alert [lately well passed], I'll switch the algo to just count down from point of announcement. Personal Target 5 years, remaining time permitted. Am on 3 years now, need 29 all-out per year i.e. 60 days to get there. If the announcement comes earlier, I'll cut the target to 4 years. Crunch On. (Estimated total today, 99 years +/- 3... stats are wacky these days) |

@Falconet, thanks for the suggestion, but no, I don't think it has to do with this particular issue. It is very strange, because I haven't changed anything. I just stopped receiving DSFL WUs. I changed to SN2S (on one of my machines) and tried to see if I could get some of WUs from that project: got zip. It seems that my account is on the WCG black list. I still have a little less than 4 days on one of my machines. I'll wait for a couple of days to see if the fat bit gets unclogged. If not, then I'm going to be up that famous river without a paddle... uh cruncher?... whatever.
----------------------------------------@Sekerob... thanks for the suggestion of upping the processor usage%. I've changed it to a more realistic percent. CJSL [EDIT 6:43 PM CST]: One of my machines finally did get some WUs after all, so I guess that it's just fat bit that is/was stuck some place along the line... go figure ![]() ![]() Crunching for a better world... ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by cjslman at Jun 10, 2013 11:50:05 PM] |

Now that FA@H and DSFL are the only 'all-out' sciences running, not counting CEP2 because of it's special requirements and SN2S outlook on down throttle of the known unknowns [was that a Rumsfeld things?], the effect is for the day, ahum, on the 2 full available... FA@H projection 123 years, DSFL 125 years. This is going to drastically drop remaining days [no rocket scientist required, we all knew it was coming], so y'all know

Yes, with only 2 1/2 projects active (i.e., I'm counting CEP2 as the 1/2), I really do need another project (or 2) to start so as to give me a fighting chance of reaching my Emerald badge in DSFL. Ideally, if HFCC would come back soon, that'd also help...
