Whenever the computer begins a new activity, the "Open, Snooze, About, Exit" window pops open by itself and stays on top no matter what other window I click on.
Tried installing a newer version of "Flash" which was the Windoze Vista suggested cure. No change. Turned the machine off and rebooted. No change. Finally turned BOINC off to get some uninterrupted used of my machine, which defeats the purpose. Suggestions? |

Seen and experienced similar and occasional have it on other applications too. Suspect a lack of video resources for one, particularly when having many graphics pages open and a screen not fully refreshing. It's only on the duo system I cant update the NVidia drivers for, hacked as it is to get W7 running on it... with Vista drivers.

Here is a temporary work-around until someone can give you a good solution.
----------------------------------------Right click on the WCG icon in the system tray (in the lower right hand corner), and click on exit. When it ask if you want to stop the science or not, make sure it is not checked. This will allow WCG to run in the background but you wont see any notices. However there are bad points to this too, so it is only a temporary work-around. If you aren't ask if you want to continue running WCG when you click on the exit, then you will need to enable that option under "Advance->options->Enable Manager exist dialog" ![]() |

Thanks. I'd tried clicking on the "About" and then "Close" but it was popping open so many times a minute that I wore out and turned it off.
Pity of it is that this is my main dualie for crunching. Other machine keeps overheating and having to be rebooted, so I hate to lose the reliable cruncher. |

Finally did an uninstall. Every time I rebooted this laptop, the dratted thing kept cycling thru. Perhaps when I have time for a registry clean, I can put it back on. Until then...
