I have a number of computers on a network that have all been unable to upload their completed work since August 11th.
----------------------------------------Is there anyway to transfer these to another computer on another network for uploading (i.e. copying them to a memory stick then uploading from another network)? I have 13 computers that all stopped uploading. Thanks! M. PS http errors, internet working but project servers may be down (on multiple projects) ![]() |

Sounds like it's all failing on a central connection, modem/router/firewall. Power these down for a little and than start them up again. Also post the message log of one of your devices so we can read the sequence of events.

Will do... I'm sure it's an IT department "fix".
----------------------------------------I'll post once I'm in the office - perhaps they aren't WCG friendly at work :) ![]() |

Here's the messages, virtually the same on all computers:

Hello mickbeale,
8/15/2011 5:10:32 AM World Community Grid Scheduler request failed: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with known CA certificates Probably your clock needs resetting. Here is the FAQ: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/...ead,15682_offset,0#121477Hope this helps. Lawrence |

The certificate expired on July 11, 2009 in the ca-bundle.crt file.

The dozen computers in question are all on network time. I am taking one of these off the network and attaching outside our network to upload the work, then uninstalling WCG from that unit.
----------------------------------------I will continue to do that to all but one of my computers that have 3 days of crunching ready. ![]() |

The certificate expired on July 11, 2009 in the ca-bundle.crt file. How do I update this? There's multiple certificates in that ca-bundle.crt file... going way into the future [open the file and drill in]. More probable it's your network security mangling things. Now, if the certificate really has expired follow the FAQ... http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=14222 where a new one can be fetched, but the easiest would probably be to fetch a new copy of BOINC 6.10.58 and install it again. --//-- |

Is there a way to copy the datqa and slots and "fool" a computer not firewalled into sending the data?

It would have been possible if the intermediate host would also have been used to fetch the work [sneaker net], but when fetched by another computer, uploaded by a different one... I'm afraid that fails as the servers check things such as the connect device name. You could try. Copy the whole shabbeng, BOINC programs and data dir to a USB stick, AFTER setting BOINC to suspend running and no work fetch, then exiting the BOINC programs completely. If the data dir was not a subdirectory of the BOINC program directory, copy content of the datadir with all the subdirs into the BOINC program dir, so that the sub-dir structure is maintained.
Take the stick to the targeted host, plug in, and start BOINC from the USB. BEFORE, unplug the computer from the internet/LAN, so you can verify if the BOINC Manager still sees the completed work. When happy, connect and hit update in the project tab of the BM. Sneaker-netting requires planning and care, else the server will send word to delete the ''unknown/unassigned'' work to the specific host. If it fails, check back and read ''was to be expected'' ;O) --//-- |
