I selected all the projects and the send me work from other projects at the beginning and checked it just now on the web site. I don't find such an option on the BOINC manager. Strange... Open My Grid > My Projects again, verify selections, then hit the Save button at the bottom. That will overwrite all your other device profiles should something have changed there (I think not). --//-- |

It last like 30-60 seconds by default. Let's do following: In the BOINC Manager [advanced view], there is a menu up top. Select Activity, and then *Run Always* and *Network activity always available*. Do not exit the manager, just minimize it for now. ttyl --//-- |

So I did all the things above. Nothing happened. So, I hit reset project while WCG was selected (the only one there). It worked for a bit then in tasks I get two lines of 'helping childhood cancer'. In my profile I have 2 or 3 selected at this time - having given up on selecting all - none of which was childhood cancer. I am at 2% progress, so maybe not all is lost, but its still not working. What am I doing so wrong?

On the Netwrok tab change the Download/Upload rates both to 0.00 then hit OK. After, please copy the message log again and post, after it has tried to connect to the servers. --//-- |

Hello arawson69,
8/14/2011 9:06:53 AM Reading preferences override file This means that you are running on local preferences rather than the website preferences. You have changed your system so that it will ignore anything you set on the website. If you are in the Advanced view of BOINC Manager, select Advanced - Preferences. Then click the upper-right Clear button in the Preferences popup menu. This will clear the local preferences and make you use the website preferences. Then you can use your browser on the WCG site to select My Grid - Device Manager - (Selected Profile), which may be Default, Home, Work or School. Then you can change values on it to allow BOINC projects to use 90% of your memory or even select Maximum Output. [And then select SAVE.] It sounds as though you have told BOINC not to run except under ideal conditions, which is why I am suggesting you try "run if at all possible" (Maximum Output). Lawrence |

Sorry, Sorry, Sorry to all. Here is the issue. I had WCG working on this machine about 5 or 6 years ago, but stopped running it, and then erased most of the machine. Now it is a secondary one, so I thought I would put WCG back on. Short story long, it remembered my old login info, not my new one, and was using that for its info. So no matter how I configured it it was attached to the old user name. Finally got it going. Sorry and thanks
