Externally read "Active Tasks" list details

I am developing a workshop for use with primary and secondary students to expose them to technologies in an effort to build STEM interest. The WCG provides a great set of "popular subjects" to address in our learning labs, but there is no obvious ABI to read the current "active tasks" list to better display details relating to the projects being worked on in real-time. Are there any references available for the BOINC client as used by WCG that would expose this data?

Hi kkhausman and welcome to the forums.
Have you looked at the Boinccmd tool? It can easily be invoked using one of the script languages and provides what you're looking for as well as complete control over the Boinc client.
This Link is to the Berkeley site and if you do a search in the forums you will find more information. I wrote a script a while back that you may find helpful. It's posted here and SekeRob added a shorter version to the thread.

Thanks to you both for the rapid response. I will see if I can use your suggestions to integrate the current-active tasks to colored light blocks using an Arduino board, so that an LED sculpture can shift in color as the task alignment varies - blending art with science to help draw interest to STEM studies and global participation in shared research.
