What are your settings on diskspace usage? Just made one small change which should have been fine anyway; Disk Usage Use no more than: 10 Gigabytes of disk space (i had it at 1 Gig) Leave at least: 0.1 Gigabytes of disk space free Use no more than: 75.0% of total disk space Write to disk at most every: 60.0 seconds ![]() |

There's the question of the real space left and allowed to the BOINC account... gremlins changing settings/permissions?
----------------------------------------Navigate to the BOINC Data Directory, right click the folder properties and see what the OS thinks is being used and by whom and any quota, if those got set. --//-- edit: You could stop BOINC and run the installer again and choose ''repair'' to restore any permission issues. First I'll just answer your question. Running the installer again does not make sense. yet I may have to do that later; Type: File Folder Size: 887 MB Size on disk: 889 Contains 813 files, 132 folders |

In your previous post you wrote:

If the change was done on website profile and local prefs override, you'd have to make the change on the client or clear the local prefs, then do an project update. |

Johnny Cool, you posted that the BOINC Data Dir used 889Mb, so 1GB makes it clear to me that the pref of 1GB was/is in effect. If there are CEP2 app files, they take already 250MB or so on permanent basis. 2x 300 for FAAH plus temp files adds another 600 and there you have 850 already used by 2 sciences.
----------------------------------------The client message "check your settings on the website" is misleading. As is customary in problem resolution Q&A on these forums, would you please post your start up message log. Somewhere there is printed which prefs are used. Mine say: 39 WCG 05-07-2011 10:48 Computer location: work 40 05-07-2011 10:48 General prefs: using separate prefs for work 41 05-07-2011 10:48 Reading preferences override file ** --//-- edit: ** This message is long overdue on part of developers to be made more meaningful. In old days one had to manually edit the override file. Nowadays the overrides constitute what was changed via the GUI BOINC Manager interface i.e. the message would be much better if it said "local preference overrides read and in effect" or similar. edit 2: Maybe they did already in 6.12.33 alpha, and still left it up in the air what is in effect... Mine prints: 47 05-07-2011 10:48 (to change preferences, visit the web site of an attached project, or select Preferences in the Manager) [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 5, 2011 2:45:04 PM] |

It's fine now. I had changed the 1 Gig to 10 Gigs in my profile (My Grid) and Unchecked Please opt me in to new projects as they become available. Then I was thinking about the setting on my Boinc client ....
----------------------------------------Changed that to 10 Gigs as well and Voila! It's fine now. I think that unchecking the Unchecked Please opt me in to new projects as they become available had nothing to do with this. ![]() |
