Re: New Set of Beta WU's - General System Test, All Sciences

Afterthought: Maybe in these types of Betas the tasks could be controlled in distribution to only go to those that have opted in for a particular science i.e. if your P4-HT were not opted to receive HPF2 in production, it best not send a beta of HPF2. Would that make sense? [Can see some cons to that suggestion too ;>]

The only con I see, is that some of us (myself included) are currently for only certain WUs due to badge hunting (or just a specific goal). I currently am only crunching CEP2, HCC, and HMCD2. This would mean that we wouldn't get betas for any other WUs. Also what would happen for beta WU for a new project?

P.S. Crunching HCC and HMCD2 because they are supposed to finish fairly soon. Always crunching CEP2, due to the fact that I limit how many of these I will allow my system to crunch at once

Re: New Set of Beta WU's - General System Test, All Sciences

To follow up on the deadline topic, I received a repair FAAH unit at 1:19PM that is due at 6:44PM the next day, this is about 29.7 hours so there is (at least in this unit) some leeway in the deadlines.

I have a CEP2 Beta WU reported on July 3rd, my wingman returned it on July 2nd, and it's still PV. I've hit the "Try Validation" button a couple of times and it seems to do nothing. confused

Re: New Set of Beta WU's - General System Test, All Sciences

In production the scheduler would award extra grace time to the slower devices on top of the standard fraction. Don't know though how predictable the HPF2 times were, but the last HPF2 Beta on me quad is after 7.5 hours on 51% and due in 10... tight.

I've now got one which will take over 30 hours on the P4HT, so it'll be well over 10 hours over. It seems to be mostly an HPF2 issue.

Similarly, I just received one of those. About 32 hours for this one. As they are generally a little over half the length of HPF2, that's heaps of time.

Re: New Set of Beta WU's - General System Test, All Sciences

Hi,

sorry, I did not quite understand some of the posts above, there will be more of this beta during next week?

I am 3 days short for the bronze, anyhow good bump from 3 days to 11 with this round. Not even really trying to catch any beta in the past (too difficult).

thanks

At least you've hit the ""Try Validation" link so it's "Scheduled for Validation", but you don't say when you did that... it can take hours when the scheduler validator gets to it.

Don't worry, it will get cleared in time. First ''forced'' attempt is when the standard deadline expires, which would have been 3 days in this beta run IIRC... that's tonight.

Re: New Set of Beta WU's - General System Test, All Sciences

I have two clean energy betas in the same situation. I hit the try validation button at about 4:30, it's now 10:48 and not validated. I suspect this is because Knreed suspended the run on that science and that somehow took them out of the normal process.

Think you're smack on. Never looked inside on the RS pages and indeed only shows CEP2 Betas in PV... circulation stopped will also not set off that 1st forced check. We'll have to wait for the 5th of July and the hands-on wrenching :O)

Same for me. I used the "Try Validation" button ~15hours ago, still in PV:
