Interesting how they all use 132 MB of RAM. thinking I hope that more RAM usage in the future BETA's would reduce paging for these tasks.

Re: New Set of Beta WU's - FAAH

I've received 4, 1 on each of 4 different machines (all running Ubuntu Linux).

Three of them have 2-day deadlines, so I figured they were repair jobs, but in Results Status, no other wingman is shown and it says minimum quorum is 1.

The fourth one has a 5-day deadline, and there is a wingman.

I'm curious as to what the difference is. (But more than curious, I'm thrilled to be getting betas!)

Re: New Set of Beta WU's - FAAH

I'm so glad to have got a reasonable number of these (about 10 - 12) on both MAC and PC. I have been waiting for 1.5 days worth to get my first Beta badge - this should do the trick!

Re: New Set of Beta WU's - FAAH

Anyone else seeing 2 VERY different time estimates?
My PC has one estimated run at about an hour, three at over 7 hours.
My mac has one at 90 minutes and the other at almost 10 hours.

Edit: Seems like the longer one is the correct one. PC is 25 minutes in, 5.5-7.5% completion. Odd where the other time came from.

Other than that, looks stable here

Re: New Set of Beta WU's - FAAH

knreed did indicate that nothing was changed to the application and all sciences will pass through the beta sequence, so I'm not expecting anyone to see anything different in task behavior than what we've seen in production.

Don't rely on the Beta feeders to assign correct run time predictions. Sounds like the second tranche of 15k tasks had a manual increase.

--//--

PS Got 3 while shuteye one of which is already a repair, running in high priority, not 2 days deadline, 6 hours run time prediction. All FAAH for now.

Edit:

PPS, a typical production test is about 10k results per platform. If that IIRC observation flies the guys on Mac will have a party, like we had all the fun when CEP2 tested only on Linux and an endless stream came through of several weeks... that got me to Ruby+ :D

Re: New Set of Beta WU's - FAAH

just checked on my betas. I got 2 errors (on the same machine). Not sure if it is a machine issue or not. On one of them, a wingmen completed but is waiting for validation.

Sekerob, if somehow I can get betas for all of my cores to run for 2 days, I would be able to achieve sapphire. So I am pretty much assured sapphire by the end of the year with all of these betas thanks to the config change and the new projects.

I also seem to be getting a lot of errors, but only on my Ubuntu machines. I have 50 errors so far.

You can try the DDDT2 rain dance technique ;>)

Meantime, the 2 on me Linux Ubuntu 11.04 - Kernel 2.6.38.10 bld 46 is doing great on 2 concurrent Beta... after 5.7 hours they're showing 99.7% efficiency and that with 2 CEP2 on the other cores. One will finish 6.15, the other in 7.75, a good spread. Not ran FAAH for a long time, so pleased to see the app does fine.
