Re: Poetry - just poetry ....

There should be a way to
Jail the emotion that robs us
Of precious, fleeting moments
And ruts and grooves our lives
With the intense, abandonment
Of a Van Gogh portrait.
Why does your anger destroy me -
I recoil from it like a blow
Because I hurt and feel wasted
All the time you didn't let me
Love you.

I thought I'd share as it might go some way to explain why I'm tad wobbly at the moment

I did write something but never pressed submit

"Perspective"

A clean sheet
A new page
A blank canvas

I could paint in a lighthouse on solid rock
alerting mariners to their impending doom
An Albatross - A Dove
Paint moody skys
over majestic terrains
Dodo departing stage right
Paint in my Mona Lisa
That babbling brook
My Idyll in Oils

Instead

I'm going to rip a great hole in it
and step through the fray

Catharsis

It's ok to feel sad or weep, relate to song ,
paint or write. All great recipes for release.
We are more than our scars. The past has passed.
Time to let go and move on which you have expressed so well.

“The most difficult aspect of moving on is accepting that
the other person already did.”

Stationary

There in a Palace to going elsewhere (Brussels Midi)
People meeting, frantic dashing, checking watches, sitting waiting
How much is a single ticket to Liege? It's Platform Number 9 for Halle

Arrivals

-It was an innocent enough question on facebook-

Shopping for the last chance to get the famous Chocolates
Gifts, Cards, Tickets. Passports, Foreign Announcements.
Could they make the 17:32 to Bruges if they went right now?
No...right now.

Departures

-But I knew the answer-

Like the monolithic beams and girders supporting, for
so long, the train lines above
I was bolted to the floor
Fossilised, Frozen
Cast in Bronze
Welded, Static,

Stationary

Not another step further as the whole World rushed on bye
In that busiest of all places, I, like the Tin Man, had ground to a halt

-"Doesn't She miss you when you are away?"-

.

Frozen

A blade penetrating
Swaying imperceptibly - inside
Needing movement - not wanting
Bustle blurring - immobilized

Who's there to heed the inner voice
Clear the cobwebs - Cry wake up
Who will win the struggle
And 'step through the fray'
