Mac mini not getting much work

I fire up the Mac mini (2010) to crunch periodically. Been off for about a month. Loaded it up with HPF2. Have a 2 day buffer set but only getting 4 wu's. It's set to use 1 processor. This is the second day back and still getting only a few. Something up with Mac wu's? I even adjusted to 9 days to see what would happen, got 1 extra wu. Didn't want to uninstall/reinstall unless I really have to. Suggestions? Am using the latest boinc for Mac from WCG.

Re: Mac mini not getting much work

With a month off, crunch time per day is probably pooched, bionc thinks it will take 2-3 days to do a few hrs work, it will correct in a day or 2 of 24/7, every returned wu will adjust back to a more normal setting

Re: Mac mini not getting much work

Based upon my experience, Mac mini and HPF2 WU's are not a good combination. Mine usually took between 9-12 hours per WU (Intel 2.0 gig), and for my Mac mini it was just too painful to watch. Mac Mini usually does well with HCC, CMD2, DDDT2 (when available), and C4CW.

Re: Mac mini not getting much work

fredski is right on the money. A few control values such as <on_frac> could have gotten out of whack. If remembering well, some were to stop being written down if the device [speak client] had been off for longer than 10 days, but not knowing the details and from which client that was to be. 6.10.58 would have them, if any. At any rate, takes a few days to proof that the return rates are back to normal. Newest clients would at any rate not allow idling of any cores that BOINC is allowed to use.

PS: Those seeing ""New client available: 6.12.26" in their logs being advertised by Berkeley >>> Report bugs at the Berkeley forums. We'll try to help, but there being no word that WCG will adopt this version. WCG has activated the Notices part though, which is a x-feed from info going into RSS. No need to visit forums or Twitter to stay abreast of the more important stuff... home delivery of interesting WCG news to your client, with a hot link to the full article. Known Issues I've not seen appear in there yet.

Re: Mac mini not getting much work

It's a 2.66ghz processor. Taking about 7-8 hrs per wu. I'll give it a few more days to see what happens. My 2.66 westmere system takes about the same time, give or take an hour. Thanks for the help.
