Again yes indeed.
I would agree that a new thread would be a good idea, and your 1st header would be the most likely to encourage existing and potential WCG participants. |

Question if I may for those that have recently upgraded their PC to a Haswell chip. What did you upgrade from? Is the Haswell noticeably quicker than what you had before? I'm currently using an i7 sandy bridge - it's fine for what I use it for; gaming, WGC and a bit of video editing/converting. Just wondering if it's worth the expense of upgrading! Personally I wouldn't bother upgrading from any previous version of ivy bridge i5 or i7. Cant comment on the 1st generation i5 or i7 as I don't have any. Slight performance increase in Gen 3 (at best 10%) but main focus has been on the onboard GPU and energy savings, which wont effect your if running at 100% CPU. As the chip TDP is 84 watts vs ivy bridge 70 watts, was hoping for a better stock cooler. No luck! With no competition from AMD, Intel is holding back on the release of 8 plus core technology. Money would be better spent on a new graphics cards when the next GPU project comes along.

We're well on target to hit 1,000 years of team run-time within July, at this rate! ![]() Yes indeed. @ crooks_uk Can I resurrect the suggestion of a new team thread? Achieving the 1,000 years RunTime target would seem to be an ideal point at which to make the switch. IMO the first 100 characters which display on the Thread Summaries are key. Currently we have: We are by far the greatest team representing UK members, but we are lagging behind many countries I offer the following alternatives for the new thread: 1. Welcome to the new UK team thread as we crunch towards a 2nd Millenium of RunTime. 2. Join the principal British team as we crunch towards a 2nd Millenium of RunTime. But it should be a team decision so post your suggestions for crooks_uk to make a choice. Fine by me jonnieb-uk. Feel free to draft up suggestions, or create a new thread, and we can switch any time you like. ![]()

100 million! Superb achievement TMC, a first for the team I believe.
----------------------------------------JonnieB's first suggestion looks good. Nothing better has come to mind yet and would fit nicely with passing our first 1000 year RT milestone. |

Soong was the 1st to pass 100 million, but he was moving that fast at the time it was easy to miss it!!!! ![]()
