Question if I may for those that have recently upgraded their PC to a Haswell chip.
----------------------------------------What did you upgrade from? Is the Haswell noticeably quicker than what you had before? I'm currently using an i7 sandy bridge - it's fine for what I use it for; gaming, WGC and a bit of video editing/converting. Just wondering if it's worth the expense of upgrading! ![]() |

Just wondering if it's worth the expense of upgrading! Would also be interested, though from I'm probably going to wait for core count increase. Hoping the E5-2600 V1 series will get cheaper as E5-26xx V2 planned for Sept. or Haswell-E due next year? http://www.engadget.com/2013/06/17/intel-leak-haswell-e-2014/ or win lottery ![]() |

We're well on target to hit 1,000 years of team run-time within July, at this rate!

We're well on target to hit 1,000 years of team run-time within July, at this rate! ![]() Yes indeed. @ crooks_uk Can I resurrect the suggestion of a new team thread? Achieving the 1,000 years RunTime target would seem to be an ideal point at which to make the switch. IMO the first 100 characters which display on the Thread Summaries are key. Currently we have: We are by far the greatest team representing UK members, but we are lagging behind many countries I offer the following alternatives for the new thread: 1. Welcome to the new UK team thread as we crunch towards a 2nd Millenium of RunTime. 2. Join the principal British team as we crunch towards a 2nd Millenium of RunTime. But it should be a team decision so post your suggestions for crooks_uk to make a choice. |

When Intel first released info about their new Haswell CPU to the world, they proudly announced that it would come in a 8 Core & 16 Core, both with Hyperthreading. Months later, they revised that info and changed it to the same as before, a glorified Quaddie I am happy for a new Team Thread if it will help us to improve and become a stronger Team, I like No.1 ![]() ![]() ![]() |
