I've now installed the 32-bit libraries on the "testing" dual quad-core Xeon, so that it can also do CEP2 along with my gaming PC at home. Thargor, do you build your own PC's? I'm looking to get a dual quad-core Xeon and I'm looking for the best option. |

I tend to build my own, but this is a work server that I'm testing - a Dell PowerEdge R710.
----------------------------------------I have looked at building my own, but the parts aren't as easy to come by as those for workstation PCs. I've been looking at http://www.rackservers.com/index.aspx for pre-built servers - the prices aren't "too" bad, depending on what spec you're actually looking for. The E5620 is probably a good base to work on, a quad-core hyperthreaded 2.40GHz Xeon - it's what's in this test-server. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out :) No worries! If you do get something from there, let me know what it's like. I've heard good reports about the servers they build and send out, but given that I'd likely be spending £2.5k on a server, I'd just like to know they really are that good! |

Good Morning Everyone
----------------------------------------I seemed to have sorted the Shut Down problem on my quaddie, I thought it was the PSU, turns out that, that was only part of the cause, it continued afterwards.. I disabled HDMI sound in Bios and it's been fine ever since?? (Touch Wood, it's been almost 2 days with no shut down, I was getting up to 8 per day), Don't know why that would cause a Kernel power issue, but there we go?
